Most old games work with windows 7 compatibility mode, if not without it. Some games, for some reason, and applications as well, won't start (they are incompatible) and yet there is no way to make the compatible. Most things could probably be dealt with with the Windows XP VPC but for games that require Direct3D, you can't play that with them.
Any thoughts as to what I should do?
I can play half-life in Direct3d
Just a question, what old programs you use?

So can I...
I honestly have not noticed much more incompatibility in Win7 than XP at all yet.
Sorry, I meant that games that use Direct3D won't run under WinXP mode with Virtual PC. Well, they do, but very low fps because it tries to transfer the data without using OpenGL. I only tried VP because some programs simply won't open (they show up in processes for a second before closing), even though they do in Vista.
Er, XP mode isn't meant for gaming.
