If you want to encourage exploration, shouldn't you be adding things that are worth finding?
I haven't kept up with WoW in years. What's the real reason they're removing flying mounts? It smells like there's an alternate reason for this.
wowee thats the exact same thing they said for wod and then they added pathfinder they arent removing flying mounts as far as i know but instead cut -flying- in argus from what i could witness ingame myself
They do this fairly often for new zones like this, Timeless Isle, Isle of Thunder, ect. If anything, I wish they just allowed you to fly there once the content is outdated.
If you want to encourage exploration, shouldn't you be adding things that are worth finding?
Huh? This is WoW we're talking about, people are still finding easter eggs that were put in the game years ago by exploring around, flying mounts kill any notion for players to explore because they just fly from A to B without taking in any of the environment. It's also not a new thing to not allow flying in new zones.
flying mounts were a mistake and should never have been added to the game anyway i'm glad they take it away for new content
I would agree if there weren't so many hills you couldn't get by unless you go a very specific path (mostly an issue on Draenor and Broken Isles). Thankfully, Argus seems to be better designed in that respect.

There comes a time when the only thing on a WoW player's mind is their next piece of gear, or the quest target, or whatever and they dont bother exploring no matter how they get to B when that mindset hits. It.....was part of why I quit playing back in Cata.
Flying mounts would be so much better with an actual flight model, inertia and stuff. Not just a fucking noclip mode with basic collision checking
:snip:
Argus really doesn't need flying mounts at the moment, the transport system is robust enough (and they aren't flying mounts, you're literally beaming down from a Draenei ship so it's nearly instant) that unless you ignore it on purpose it's very easy to get around. [editline]h[/editline] also i'd argue that they aren't really 'cutting' flying mounts - there's a trend of not being able to immediately fly in a new area anyways, for various in-universe reasons (cold weather, enemies in the airspace, whatever), and i'd argue that the legion has such massive air superiority that it makes sense not to fly around on their planet right now. this isn't really anything out of the ordinary.
literally every big update they say this, does anyone fall for it anymore?
