• When should you call it quits?

hey fp it's me i have a quandary that i require input on: so i recently moved out to a new place for a job i got during the school year (i'm a college student), and moved in with about sixteen other people in a tiny house. this was fine with me, because i figured i'd be getting paid and that would allow me to tolerate the folks in the house. they're some of the most abrasive, racist shits i've ever met, so i keep to myself a lot however, it came to my attention that the place i'm working at won't be open for another week or two, and the restaurant portion (where i work) won't be functional until sometime thereafter. so, i'm left with a problem - do i wait somewhere near three to four weeks to even start this job, or should i just ditch and head back home to my family and find a job in my home city? i don't have to pay rent yet, but the cost of living out here is pricey (very expensive grocery costs) so when is it time to call it quits?
It all depends on exactly how intolerable these people are. Can you give an example?
i thought i used to drink semi-frequently at school, but these people drink all day, every day. i don't mind it usually, but sometimes they get belligerently drunk and begin screaming at one another - it's not that i care, it's that i can't sleep with two people having a shouting match right outside my door. another example is a quote from a housemate on one of his pastimes: "yeah, me and some buddies will get together, get shitfaced, grab a bag of spoons and drive around the city. then, when we see a black guy, we'll shout '[n word]!' and throw a spoon at him. sometimes we do it to [asian slur] and [hispanic slur] too, it's a ton of fun!" people actually agreed with this shit one person apparently once had their apartment raided for crystal meth charges, but that's the past so idk what's up with that but yeah, it's a pretty hellish environment and if i'm not getting paid i don't think it's worth it

If I were you I'd go back home. Rather have a lower pay than living with those people, except if you hate your family.
no, i absolutely love my family - i've barely seen them since i've been away at school, and after i left school i immediately left home for work, so i haven't seen much of them for the past six months
Move back home, don't tolerate with people you don't really like or get on with, there will be another job at your home city. And your friends are there.
when you're born
Surround yourself with better people. Fuck living with them unless you want to be like them. You got to put your well-being, peace, love, etc. above everything else, even if it means losing your family, friends, job, home, etc. This is for the sake of your higher self. In the end, everything shall balance out. [editline]24th May 2013[/editline] Criminal minded people hang out with other criminal minded people. You don't hang out with them unless you want to live the criminal lifestyle.
now the only problem is finding a job back at home, but it shouldn't be that difficult so long as i apply myself to it thanks for the input, folks my mom for some godforsaken reason wants me to remain out here because she thinks that "remaining committed" is more important than not being paid for a month... i disagree, so i'm probs heading home tonight or tomorrow
