I loved CoH/V, it was easily the best MMO I've ever played. But I fear that it will take the turn that most MMO's take after going free to play and turn into complete shit.
I actually own CoH, on an account I forgot :downs: and loved it but
can only select from eight different character “archetypes” as opposed to building and customising their character from the ground up.
Means I won't come back to it.
I hate all these Free to Play shitstorms.
City of Heroes/Villains is by far the best MMO I have ever played. The gameplay was great, community was/is awesome, and it has a huge backstory to almost everything that manages to be better than most story-driven singleplayer games I know. The slow leveling process and specialization that they basically removed in Champions Online makes it feel 100x more rewarding as well.
Personally I think it looks better than Champions Online as well.
I always liked the themes and story better than Champions Online, although Champions had the much better gameplay
I think i have the collectors edition of this, i got it for free but never played it.

blame games like World of Tanks for actually making shit tons of money
Yeah, City of Heroes was the first MMO I loved. I bought City of Villians probably in 2007 but I don't think I took it out of the package.
Holy shit, you can't customize your hero/villain with f2p? THAT WAS THE BEST PART OF THE GAME!
that's why you pay (sup Champions Online)
also CoV had the best pet system I've ever seen
I kinda like CoH/V for it's guild system and the pet system, however I dislike the combat system.
I hope in the future, steam will add LOTR:O, Age of Conan, COHF, and other games for the F2P section.

CoX has managed to stay consistently awesome for quite a while. I just wish I could keep my interest in it. The only traditional MMO that could have even be considered better would be SWG pre-cu. It was fucking fun though.
I have a maxed out hero and villain. The hero has a ton of enhancements and is basically a walking god. Too bad I'm too lazy to resubscribe. I lose interest after a while. Only MMO I wish was still up was The Sims Online. I liked it.
