So, I am back again after building [most] of my newest desktop. I am currently using a Netgear N300 Wireless USB Adapter for my desktop and a simple collar-clip microphone. Sadly, my connection is very finiky with this adapter (as I drop connection to games easily and produce a lot of lag...). My microphone picks up everything from my surround sound easily but it's probably the settings. My funds are open right now and what I am looking for is options.
For WiFi adapter:
+ Good range; I am on the second floor of home, router is on first.
+ Internet speed is 3Mb/s (because AT&T sucks and I can't get more due to home)
+ Affordability; prices are open but sales are better
For microphone:
+ Good quality; I plan to record videos a lot
+ Multi-use; as in Skype, commentary, record sounds, etc.
+ Again, affordability; sales are nice
Note: was considering Blue Yeti microphone but there probably is better.
What kind of router do you have?
I had the something similar to this worked very well.

I had one of these too, but it burned out for me after a few months. Just stopped working.
The router I'm using is the NetGear N300 Wireless Gigabit ADSL2+ Modem Router: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16825124004

If it is also neccessary, I was thinking about perma upgarding the modem to something much more powerful and consistent.
