With how important the aesthetics are to Apple's brand and image, I'd say it's a pretty big failure of design to [I]require[/I] a case. I've owned iPhones for the last six years, I am a clumsy fucker, and I've never broken a single screen. Only had a case on one of them, for the record.

Then again, literally anything on the iPhone X can be considered a failure of design.

funnily enough despite literally being glass the S8 seems reasonably durable enough that you could use it without a case. You're also sure as fuck never going to bend it by hand.

hopefully this changes and they make it unreasonably durable. I hate the idea of breaking my phone when I need it most.

Won't happen, because now they can charge you out the ass for a replacement or just tell you "Get a new phone lol" when your 1 year warranty is out.
