• Is my video card dying? (pics included :D)

So lately ive been wondering if my video card is fucked. So basicly this will happen atleast 20-30 mins after playing TF2 (extra info: when it does this it freezes then it comes back and then this texture problem happens) or even after 15 minutes. 15 minutes is rare though. Sometimes i can run TF2 for hours without a problem. Its completely random. Specs: Win XP 32bit AMD Athlon II X4 630 2gb DDR2 GeForce 8800GT ALSO, IM UNABLE TO CHECK MY VC's TEMP BTW. IDK WHY.
Wow that looks fucked. Just buy a new one.
Well im not perfectly sure if its my video card.
That's a fucked gpu if I ever saw one. The 8800 is older than dirt too. And that doesn't even look like overheating to me, usually overheating has to due with scrambled pixels and artifacts and freezing, that looks like full-blown fucked-ness like it isn't even interpreting the data correct at all.
Wow, how is the game pulling textures like that? Heavies face is stretched along the wall. It must be the gpu.
Wow, how is the game pulling textures like that? Heavies face is stretched along the wall. I'd say that one of the few possible problems are: 1) The GPU is overheating. 2) The video card drivers are corrupt. 3) The GCF for TF2 is corrupt. It could be one of the three, or a combination of all three.
Wanna be sure if its just overheating or or my card is fucked. Cuz my 260gtx which i had was in a worse conditions and it never did shit like this. I heard that the 8800gt runs at full power 24/7. Should i just get a new card?
run HWmonitor while playing tf2. Then give us a picture of it.
Tried HWMonitor b4 and just tried it again. It only shows my VC's voltages. No temps shown up. [editline]25th July 2011[/editline] Also tried Speccy, no temps.
I see nothing wrong... In all seriousness, it could be your GPU or your TF2, I'd try re-installing TF2 first unless you have similar issues with other games, in which case it's most likely your GPU. That is, if you haven't bought Team Fortress 2: Lets get high gold edition
Try upgrading or downgrading your video drivers. And maybe try a different version of directx. Does it do this on other games? Other source engine games?
This happens to me too, it's an overheating problem After these kinds of artifacts I usually check my temps in hwmonitor, and its always like 95
Can you physically feel the gpu? if it's unpleasent to the touch; it's much too hot.
As said before i would think its overheating, the textures corrupted, or the drivers are corrupted, i wouldnt think it is dyeing. is it like that on your desktop or any other games?
