Can't speak for Future Man, but I fucking love Travelers. It's an extremely simple and uninspiring premise (time-travellers from the future coming back to the past to help humanity avoid a near-apocalyptic event), but the details involved (they can only send consciousnesses back, and they only target people who historically died, moments before they do) and the rigid rules they set up for the mechanics (such as needing a very precise TELL, "Time of death, Elevation, Latitude, and Longitude," to transfer consciousness - something commonly acquired from multiple pictures of the area allowing for geo-location) and the character drama really elevates it above what should by all means be a mediocre show. It's fairly low-budget, but it does a lot with what it has (and, admittedly, season 2 seems to have gotten a bigger budget, with some of the props involved).
Future Man is fantastic [editline]1st February 2018[/editline] It's funny and interesting the whole way through, and Derek Wilson as Wolf is something special. My favorite sci-fi on Netflix is The Expanse. It's absolutely gripping.
My favorite sci-fi on Netflix is The Expanse. It's absolutely gripping.
The show is soooo good. It made me read all the books because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next season. They are at least as good!
