• Best ideas for an upgrade?

Hey everyone, I'm planning on getting a new network card soon (my current one is old as shit and doesn't work with Windows 7; I'm suck on XP) and I was wondering if there was anything else that really needs an upgrade. Current specs: Mobo: Gigabyte S-Series GA-M56S-S3 GPU: Gigabyte Radeon 5750HD 1GB GDDR CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3GHz 4GB of RAM Was thinking that I might also get myself a new monitor. The screen of my current one is about 13.5" wide.
Save the 5750 and start from scratch. Also budget?
Relatively low budget. I'm just seeing if there's anything I should be working up to upgrading to.
what is your PSU
A quick look on Gigabyte's site seems to indicate your motherboard, with the right bios, supports AM3 CPUs. Considering you're moving up to 64bit Win7 and you have 4gb of ram and you have a very decent videocard, you might consider moving up to a triple core or quad core.
Does he have 4GB of RAM? Also, why would you want a network card? Are the ports in your motherboard functioning? Go to Windows 7 if you have it and do what poster above me said about getting a new CPU.

Wireless adapter, network adapter. Must've gotten names jumbled up. My PSU is a Master 650W ATX. Sorry, forgot to mention that. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] And yeah, I've got Windows 7 but as I said before my network card is old enough that it's stopped being supported and isn't compatible with Windows 7. Also, it's just not very reliable and tends to be prone to spontaneous disconnecting. [editline]6th November 2010[/editline] Is this a good idea for a new CPU? -snipped this bit because I'm an idiot-
