Hi guys, I am looking for a new 1TB or a 1.5TB HDD for my PC, the HDD will end up holding windows and my current 320GB will hold Linux, can you guys please recommend a HDD that is cheap and very good for the price, £50 - £60 is my price range, have to deliver to the UK.
I asked the same questions a few weeks back and was told this was the best option: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-Elements-Desktop-External/dp/B002E7HEVU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288543931&sr=8-1
I don't want an external, sorry forgot to make that clear.
Samsung F3 for gaming, I recommend the the model-HD103SJ for 1TB If you're going to use it for storages, I recommend getting a Samsung F4 1.5TB (can't remember model, doesn't matter)
This is fairly good for £42, I personally have one as my main drive. Western Digital Cavier Green 1TB WD10EARS, 7200RPM, 64MB Cache
Why the hell would you get a Caviar Green? They are not made for gaming or even constant usage because most of them have a 5400rpm speed. Get a Caviar Black 7200rpm up to 10000rpm
Samsung Spinpoint F3. Now move along.
Samsung F3 for gaming, I recommend the the model-HD103SJ for 1TB
This all the way! I have a 320GB Western Digital HDD and it handles about 80MB/s read-rate. With the samsung HD103SJ I get a 140-150MB/s read-rate. Not to mention it boots really fast.
