Remember, kids, you're not modding for Minecraft. You're modding for GregTech. Thaumcraft? Also a GregTech add-on. :v:
Greg is a dick like many other minecraft modders, not a surprise.
Wow, what a cunt. Glad I don't use MC mods, though condolences to those who do and have had a problem.

Doesn't gregtech also cause a crash if it detects the technic launcher? Or was that some other mod?

That was Forestry but such code had been removed since.
This is what happens when mod devs get too full of themselves.
What a baby.
Some people are really arrogant about their mods. Wasn't the guy making the Aether being a pompous dick to people? Or was that another huge mod?

what kind of bad programmer would add two case scenarios rather than checking the username.tolower() with "gergorioust"

Even GregTech was smart enough to use an equalsIgnoreCase() method
minecraft modding community is toxic
That was Forestry but such code had been removed since.
Gregtech actually does this too. It checks if the installation exists in the default .technic directory and errors out with a message if so, which forces anyone who wants to include it in a custom Technic pack to use a nonstandard installation location.
Though people have managed to bypass it with a Solder script that modifies the mod .jar.
Oh boy.
Minecraft mods have DRM.
I pray this never happens to the Elder Scrolls Nexus, they can be as bad as the Minecraft modding community sometimes.

Shit, do people really need another reason to try to figure out why Skyrim is crashing?
as if collecting planks wasn't annoying already, why does this guy want you to be wasting even more time by doing the more boring shit in Minecraft :v:
[sp]not that there is anything overly exciting either, but building stuff sure is more fun than having to chop down twice the amount of trees needed to make something[/sp]
I've never quite got the point in some of these mods. They automate processes in the game right? So, once you've built them you aren't really playing any more, just waiting for bars to fill? Sounds pretty boring. I've attempted to use them in the past but never quite got why people shit themselves so much that every server has to run them.

Children. Both of them. I can't believe that some parts of the community work like this. I imagine working with either of this people in the work place would be so much fun....

Minecraft's mod scene is very odd. Any other game, you get the mods on ModDB, or Nexus, or any other community forum for the game, or where ever. You click the link to download the mod, you get the mod.
Minecraft? Almost everything is hosted with an ad.fly link. Everything. It makes the mod scene for it seem like everyone's an entitled arogant prat for some reason. There are some exceptions, but an 8x8 texture pack cooked up by a 9 year old in 30 minutes? Please

Because most of them are just that? I mean, look at these two fools bickering and breaking the game/ each others shit just because they disagree. The Ad.fly shit needs to stop though, you made a mod for a game, big woop, lots of people make overhauls and they don't request a penny.
God I hate Gregtech. I wish FTB Servers didn't run it.
For every great machine Gregtech added it also nerfs a hundred other things that don't need to be fucked with.
Shit, I need to download this mod so I can get the code to play that Crash game.
Gregtech is such a spergy mod. The industrial centrifuge, electrolyzer, blast furnace, and many other machines can take literally up to 500 seconds to process one material. Not to mention the crafting recipes call for ridiculously complex, expensive, and multi-tiered items. There are also some outstanding bugs. For example: Minecraft will crash if you right click a machine before the texture loads. Gregtech is a very bad mod, and it has little to no place in any mod pack. The fact that its creator will go this far to limit fun is a testament to its awfulness.
GregTech made IC2 unfun when it was in Technic, I'm glad FTB removed it.

Mind you, the Bukkit site does have a mod repo for both server and client mods. Last I grabbed one from there though, the selection was limited.

I actually liked gregtech, all the different chemical cells and machines it adds are fun to mess around with. In FTB Mindcrack I set up a helium mining and processing facility in The End (I guess they assumed it was the moon), sent it all back to the overworld using other mods and used it as a replacement for coolant cells in the Gregtech recipes.
And I know it's a game but it makes sense that centrifuging stuff takes a long time. By the time you can make the high-end gregtech stuff you'll have the resources to set up a huge factory and have multiple machines running at once, automated.
The author is a total asshole baby though, and messing with fucking wood is unacceptable. It's a mod about making fusion reactors and shit, why is he messing with trees
