Patience is a skill that seems all too lost
Vanilla WoW kept things interesting when you were out just wandering. Sure it got boring when you had to repeatedly go back through zones. But ultimately, when you got your mount you got instant satisfaction.
Where as in this, it seems like it's needed to enjoy the questing areas.
The mobs are easy to cheese since you can just fly all over the place while gunning them down or just ignore them.
and? being able to do that is a plus, its sweet to be flying all over the place, dodging their bullets and wrecking the shit out of your enemies, 'specially since nothing is really hitscan. the enemies are already known to be dumb AND for a reason, red5 have stated that if they made them any smarter they would have to downsize a lot of the game.
Those dynamic world events are repetitive and boring "collect broken parts, deliver it back".
except not all of them are specifically that? theres way more random events than that.
Questing is just "Travel 1000m to kill X, travel 1000m back".
ill give you that one, they shouldnt have it in so many quests where "go here 5000m that way. ok now come back to me so we can talk even though we have a radio."
Sense of progression is too slow for a new player, there's not much to unlock besides LGV which is behind a quest wall of leveling
you can get to sertao (and easily level as well) fairly quickly by just doing random ARES events and job boards as efficiently as possible though, its not much of a wall.
and new frames, which is also behind a quest wall of leveling
except you can purchase a license off of the market with credits, which just takes like, since theres a daily cap of how much you can covert, ~8 days at the most (at least for the most expensive frame atm, some go lower than that)? crafting is useless atm and theres not much else to spend your crystite on, so youll be saving up tons of crystite over time.
The weapons feel bland and have no kick to them.
not really, fast firing weapons devastates shit quickly, and explosive weapons are hella cool (especially the sticky bomb launcher, nothing like gibbing 10 enemies all at once.
You're also stuck with the same couple of abilities until you max out a frame to unlock a new one, or buying a new frame.
well, yeah? thats the point? youre supposed to level each frame so you get their abilities, being able to further enhance/even minmax whichever frame you wanna specialize in.
you are the minority, gratz
there are a ton of players that have put as much (or even more) hours in FF than that, though. hell, the final area you can get to is really populated during peak times with advanced frames all over the place.
This review seems pretty bad to me tbh. I haven't been having any of these problems. You can travel distances pretty damned fast by placing glider pads (which you can craft pretty easily) on rocks and shit.
If you're assault then just spam afterburner.

slot machines constantly give you 1-use glider pads as well, not to mention LGVs.
ive recently started a new bastion and there were still plenty of players flying around.
I thought this game looked so awesome when it was first announced. Like some kind an MMO with the FPSRPGLoot'emUp of Borderlands and movement of Tribes.
Uh, flying around shooting damage sponges gets boring after a while. Even more so when there's only like 5 enemy types.
you must be doing your weapons/mod usages wrong or something because there isnt a whole lot of sponges in the game. the only real ones are the bosses/raids, but thats an obvious thing.
Right, there's ~dynamic~ missions to tell you to kill X and activate certain terminals. I fought this melding tornado thing which was pretty cool I guess, but not enough to keep me interested.
what the hell do you want from them? its an MMO, theres not a whole lot they can do to push the boundaries and revolutionize the whole genre when it comes to questing. having randomly, small missions pop up here and there that you can do on your own is a good mechanic that they can expand on.
I've played for around 8 hours and was still stuck doing missions and ARES missions. My Engineer was level 10 from playing a while back, and is around level 20 now, after 8 hours. That's pretty grindy, nothing to unlock besides equipment with slightly higher stats.
keyword also being efficiently. idk what youre doing wrong but it didnt take me that long enough of a time to level like that. the only time that leveling starts to slow down a ton is from 30-40.
Keyword being "new player", new players won't have enough crystites to buy a new frame. So they'll be grinding quests and ARES missions for a while.
i did fuck all during closed/open beta, and only started playing somewhere around july 20th. i basically had a fresh platter to begin with, and if it hadnt been for me not knowing that crafting was pointless, i would have easily had enough crystite/credits from conversion before reaching 40 on my engi to buy a new frame with credits.
Missing the point. I'm not questioning their effectiveness, I'm talking about how they feel when you fire them, they feel bland and not very powerful. Even the explosive weapons don't feel powerful, especially when you're fighting damage sponges who can tank multiple explosives.
idk they feel good enough to me.
I don't know how easy it is to level other frames once you reach mid-game or end-game but I can comment on how it's super boring to be stuck leveling a single frame just to upgrade to another one. I had no interest in any other frame besides engineer, so I had to focus on leveling the engineer to get bastion, but apparently there's so much repetitive grind that I lost my interest.
guess firefall just isnt the game for you then? having to unlock an advanced frame through maxing a basic frame is just what theyve chosen to go with, and as ive said you dont even need to max a frame as you get enough credits from conversion to buy a frame easily. hell, its even better that you do that as pilot tokens are better spent on buying a rare module from a vendor in the final area, as pilot tokens are finite and credits are infinite.
also the world is totes horribly bland and boring
beach and jungle i just described your game
except thats blatantly wrong? sertao is desert + forest, new eden is tropical + beach + plains, DT is volcanic + mountainous + incredibly ashen along with the densest forest in the game, and the entire area hasnt been revealed yet so there could be more environment thrown in there.
theres also the instanced missions that have you go to different environments as well, such as arctic/icy in one. wouldnt doubt thats gonna be an environment in a non-instanced area in a future update.
I personally find the game extremely boring.
Just, I don't feel any fun from doing anything in it. There's no satisfaction to completing something, it's just boring.
