I'm thinking of purchasing a computer from a friend for £250, going to go see it today and might put a deposit down for it. But I'd like to check with someone wether it is worth the buy, for such a cheap price. Supposedly it's a gaming computer, and isn't broken or filled with malware. I'll post the specs below, ignore the drives. He's only selling one of the 500GB drives.
Also ignore the printers, they're not included.

I have a machine with the exact same board and CPU, though it has 1066 MHz DDR2 instead of 667. That's a decent price for all you're getting in it.
The 8800GT is kind of dated though and the 667 MHz DDR2 should be swapped out for DDR2-800 at least.

Would it be fit enough to play Valve games on possible highest graphics though? I'm not expecting to attempt to play Crysis (1/2) on it.
Maybe. Some scenes in Portal 2 or L4D(2) will drop down pretty low, but it should run Valve games pretty well otherwise.
That's good, sorry I'm not a whiz with graphics cards. I can install them, just don't know what the fucks best really.
I'm going to buy this then, since I can't really upgrade my current 5 year old computer that doesn't even have PCI-E on its motherboad.

You could probably get away with maximum graphical quality settings if you don't run at some absurd resolution. You could probably get away with 1280x1024 or some equivalent widescreen resolution.
