The error is a 403. [sp]Access Denied, authorization required.[/sp]
I start the game up. It shows the front cover, then the error shows.
Try reinstalling, because as I see it, it's trying to read/write memory that Vista doesn't allow it too.
Tried doing that. I have reformatted my PC over 3 times this year (not for this game) and the same error showed each time.
Got any ideas how to change Vista to allow the memory to read/write?

I'm pretty sure you can't...
There'd be all kind's of errors I think.
and DEP would probably freak out, assuming it could be done.

Oh and OP, just saw your using Internet Explorer,
Many people would reccomend/use one of these three

Personally I reccomend Firefox.
Though try and see what you prefer, maybe you do prefer IE, but it's generally accepted that any are err, superior to IE.

What does my browser type have anything to do with my PC having a mutiny against LoTR?

Just you may have been unaware of the other browsers...
Hell, maybe there's some browser exploit stopping you (I doubt it, but it doesn't hurt to check)

The game.. as in LOTRgame.exe?
Try running as XP compatibility mode?
My PC is Vista. Not sure how it can run XP compatibility mode.
Right click the .exe
>properties
>compatibility tab
>Run this program in compatibility for (tick box)

Did not work.
eh 1. Stop using IE ... its been factually supported that IE sucks lol.
2. Do a complete uninstall and then restart your PC and install it before running any other software this might not do anything but it can never hurt.
