This is a question I have been wondering for some time now. Is it bad for you to eat the shells/hulls on sunflower seeds? I like them, personally.
They give you cancer.
They do not.
They taste bad
Absolutely!
You're going to die a horrible, painful death of sunflower shell poisoning.
It will be excrutiating, begining with painful, bloody diarrhea and ending in crying tears of pitch, with a million stages of non-stop hell in between.
Uhh... No, he's not being sarcastic. It increases your chances of getting cancer by 67%.
Sorry.

Maybe it's because you're unfunny?

Okay well in that case, I'll enjoy my cancer. Thanks for your extremely helpful reply.
All i can say?
Be prepared to have one of the worst shits you have ever had in your life. You eat sunflower shells, they come out exactly how you ate them. Your ass will hurt, the turds will most likely be thick as fuck. You may even have to take something to help the shit to come out easier. Its not good to eat them, you scarring up your anus is not even the worst part, your shit can get stuck.

It's dangerous - they don't dissolve in your stomach and if a piece lodges itself in your tract, it can give you a nasty infection and possibly the need for an operation to remove it. It's a small chance, but still. On the other hand it's safe to eat pumpkin seed shells, they dissolve completely.

Thank you for providing an actually useful reply instead of "ur gonna get cancer give me funny ratings". That's true though since they don't get broken down by the digestive system. I'll stop eating them in this fashion, even though I'm addicted to eating them like that.
No idea why i was rated dumb when what i said was a fact.

That's scary, but I'm addicted to eating the hulls. It just seems like a lot of effort to crack the shell open, get the tiny seed out, and then discard the shells that are already wet from your saliva so they get stuck to the garbage.
