Would you prefer to do a job you enjoy doing or a boring Job that pays well?
I'd do a boring job that pays well for a decade or so then use the surplus I get from that to do whatever the fuck I want + my dream job
I'd do a job that pays well.
Work is work. I then no longer have to have any money worries for the rest of my life, and with my free time i can do literally whatever with it because I have money.
Plus if I ever have kids, I would need to be able to support them. Also they wont have money issues should I pass away.
I hate the prospect of being poor. It's one of my biggest fears in life.

It's not as bad as you think. There are hundreds of thousands of immigrants who came to the US with a few dollars to their name and are in a good place now. Poverty isn't something that you're banished to forever and ever.

I think something that would help this question is "How much is each job getting paid?"
My current job with more money because its all about the money.
Boring job with alot of money easily.
Why not both? I want to have a job that I can do happily and also get an adequate amount of money.
Why not both? I want to have a job that I can do happily and also get an adequate amount of money.
Well you win at life my friend.
Any job would pay more than what I make currently so if I had to choose I'd definitely choose a dream job :v:

That's not an option, apparently :v:
Being a pilot would be my dream job, like everyone i guess, but unless i work for air canada or something, it pay like crap.
I used to be a niobium miner not long ago, best of both world, excellent pay and exciting job, feels like a totally different world nearly 2000 feet underground, but i worked hard, and you dont see sun light much.
Dream job is to be an ICU Nurse/Doctor. So I don't care about the pay, I'd feel better helping people along with decent pay. Already in medical school/classes/whatever so it's too late to change my mind on this :v:
What would the actual numbers be? If the boring job was like 500k a year I'd suck it up and do it for awhile and retire after like 10 years where I work a non-boring job or just flat out don't work. I don't really care about having an estate and 10 cars, so there's no point in doing it for a long time.
My father has always told me "find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life", and it's something I'd like to believe true. I would like to believe that even if a job that I loved didn't pay top dollar, I would find a way to make it work.
I'd rather have a job that I absolutely love. If it didn't pay the bills, but I loved doing what I did, I'd move into their basement.
"If you're in a job that you love, then you'll never work a day in your life", or so the old saying goes.
If you're happy, then that means you're successful.
It doesn't matter, I won't ever have either
depends what the variables are really.. how much more would the better paying job pay, and how soul crushing would it be
If we're talking an extra 10k to kill puppies then I'd probably take the dream job. if we're talking an extra 20k to be some kind of technician or something standard like that then maybe I'd take that. it depends on the variables I think, but straight up I'd just take the dream job because who wants to be miserable
I want a job that makes me want to wake up in the morning just to go to it. I want a job that literally makes me excited to go to work.
My dream job is a boring job that pays the bills. Kinda
Keep you dreams close
My dream job pays well.... so.... :P
When you get into your mid 20s, you realize that a well paying job is better than any job, even the "dream job".
A job that pays well.
My idea of a "dream job" would just be a hobby that I can start and stop whenever I please. Turning that into a full-time work experience would suck all the fun out of it.
When you get to 50, you realise a well paying job that you really don't enjoy isn't what life should be about.
I believe everyone should be happy when they work. They should not cry at night before they sleep, or feel so sick and anxious when they wake up. I believe a person's happiness and satisfaction is more important than huge money value. I recently quit a bad job because I was so unhappy, depressed, scared, anxious and sick to my stomach. That's something nobody should live with-- especially when you work for most of the day, you basically are stewing in your own raw emotions a majority of your time.
Happy job over bad, even if it means it's lower pay.
I just want to have a job that I enjoy. Right now I'm heading back to school to pursue a medical billing and coding degree. Starting pay is generally nothing to write home about, but around here there are a ton of job offerings and they all pay more than what I'm making right now. Having full health, vision, and dental benefits will be another huge plus. Not to mention I'll have the ability to work from home, which is something I've been wanting to do for years now. A friend of mine recently went back to school for the same thing, and she now works from home and absolutely loves it.
Even if you get paid really well from a job that you don't like, you're going to hate it.
You cannot buy happiness.
A boring job would be the better option, because on the end it'll be all worth it

But you can buy the ability to be happy more often
