I need to delay my computer from imminent hard drive failure

Every time I start up my computer, it tells me that a hard drive failure is imminent and to press F1 to continue. Other than that, it doesn't show any signs of a hard drive failure. I can still run Garry's Mod smoothly, assuming I'm somewhere with a good internet connection. Luckily, my parents are happy with me living with them while I'm in college and my mom is going Christmas shopping this Thursday and is willing to drop my laptop off at Geek Squad. All I need to do is make sure my hard drive doesn't crash beforehand. I already have everything I need on an external hard drive, but I'm still not willing to let the hard drive of my $1100 laptop crash.
I would drive there myself, but the roads are filled with ice, I'm an inexperienced driver and the nearest Best Buy is a 45 minute highway/freeway drive away because I live in the middle of nowhere.
Dont bother with geek squad, waste of money, if it says a hard drive failure is imminent and you have everything backed up, save some bucks, order a new 2.5" HDD, size of your choosing (probably best off checking online what capacity hard drives your laptop can handle) off newegg and install it yourself.
if your dead set on delaying failure, just dont do anything stressful, like loading games, booting windows, copying files.
Don't bother with Geeksquad, to replace the hard drive you usually pop a panel off the back or unscrew something in the battery bay. Sometimes you need to take it apart all the way, though that's not usually the case on full sized laptops.
Laptop hard drives are fairly cheap depending on the capacity.
$70-ish for a new 500 GB hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136692
Probably cheaper than Geeksquad taking a look at it.
If you want to stop it from failing turn it off and leave it off.
I'm actually not 100% comfortable with taking my laptop apart. Is there any cheap way to repair/replace my hard drive without taking my laptop apart myself?

It's probably just literally one screw and panel that pops off to give access to the hard drive bay. Everyone will charge you silly money to do it but it's up to you.

This. On most of the laptops I've worked with it's nearly as easy as replacing a battery pack.
remove panel
slide out HDD
slide in new HDD
replace panel
My laptop is less than a year old. I should be able to get a free repair. If not, I'll get a new hard drive.

Listen to Catdaemon, it's usually literally one screw.
