I'll say it again: does anyone else think Shack News is using Facepunch as a source? They consistently report things just a few days after someone posts the story here.
This is going to be hilarious.

Like RPS and Kotaku. Always, a few days is a long time, and where do you think the people from FP get it from? There is a source that they can obtain the info from and that's where they get it. That source is definitely not a forum. Shacknews is fucking terrible though.
Well if Facepunch and Shack News are getting from the same source, how come we post it two days before them if they're the semi-professional news site?
Well if Facepunch and Shack News are getting from the same source, how come we post it two days before them if they're the semi-professional news site?
Because there's thousands of posters/viewers that come to this forum at tons of different times all with different interests so as soon as someone sees something on some news site or some other webpage, there's a thread here within seconds? Whereas shacknews and other smaller sites have a few writers that write about just about everything, so they don't catch everything immediately and when they learn of it, they do an article about it for the people that follow their site? Like, how hard is that to understand? [editline]27th July 2012[/editline] "it was on fp days ago theyre copying us even though we just copied it from somewhere else!!!"
Why is everyone gawking at this game? I tried it and it sucked. It has the most boring objective imaginable, the game itself LOOKED like ass, and to top it all off, its not even scary, and that's coming from ME. I'm a damn pussy when it comes to scary games, but this just put me to sleep. Collect pages? Why? For what purpose? and that Slenderman model? seriously? Did they think that looked good? And OH NO, he's behind me, so the TV screen that have replaced my eyes with are filling up with static! I better not let him get closer or else he'll flash his face on the screen like a big GAME OVER splash.

"News" is spread around over the internet quite a bit before any "news sites" post about it. [editline]28th July 2012[/editline] They say it's supposed to be a prettier facelift but it still looks like ass.
I'll say it again: does anyone else think Shack News is using Facepunch as a source? They consistently report things just a few days after someone posts the story here.
i miss RPS. i dont see why we cant bring that newsbot back
So far it's really bland and there's barely anything to be shown, not to mention the lack of originality, I don't know how this is getting so much media attention
I wondered the same. shit maps, shit ideas and well generally shit but #1 on moddb while there is a lot of polished mods out there that were never mentioned.
I'll say it again: does anyone else think Shack News is using Facepunch as a source? Clearly they are using a small forum full of super credible Valve fanboys as a source.
Why is everyone gawking at this game?
There's only one thing which I think kind of distinguishes it from other titles: you always have to move, and you must never look back. In horror games, god knows I can sometimes wait ten minutes to make a step, and I keep watching behind me. So... yeah. Beyond that, it is pretty mediocre. But I think it offers a new kind of tension that is appealing to gamers.
I'll say it again: does anyone else think Shack News is using Facepunch as a source? Particularly bad when you're inside the building and you know he could be around any corner.
rip rps
Personally, I thought that Slender was eerie and scary. The model of the Slenderman could have been a lot better. It is more the music that makes it creepy than the game itself, also being followed by something is always horrible, at least for me. I had some good scares playing this with my girlfriend, although I do not see the multiplayer potential behind this. It destroys everything.

I am very inspired to make a horror game in source or something after watching some gameplay videos of Slender.. I think I could make a pretty good one too.
I am very inspired to make a horror game in source or something after watching some gameplay videos of Slender.. I think I could make a pretty good one too.
Everyones making horror games is source nowadays.
If you replace the music with something upbeat and cheery, it wouldn't be scary but rather fun and entertaining.
That constant beat and suprising "Kawum" when you see him right in the face in front of you made me jump like crazy. Slender is still a neat little game, why hate for it.

I just think that if a forum can manage to have news posted, then a site built around reposting news (which already seems redundant) should be able to do it in a timely manner. I have to imagine that being built around that business (again, redundant), they would have writers for all times of the day to get these things reported in a timely manner so that they can be the best at what they do.
The possibilities with multi-player. I can see it now..
YOU PLAY AS THE SLENDER!
YOU PLAY AS THE SLENDER!
All tall and shit.
If you replace the music with something upbeat and cheery, it wouldn't be scary but rather fun and entertaining.
That goes for anything.
That goes for anything.
Even "A Serbian Film"?
If you replace the music with something upbeat and cheery, it wouldn't be scary but rather fun and entertaining.
I played through NH2 with "Popcorn" playing in the background. Boy was that silly.
Even "A Serbian Film"?
The infamous baby scene + Benny Hill music?
Why is it always have to be 4 players co-op?
