500 dollars isn't bad, but the fucking shipping and tax comes to $773.54
Which leaves me nothing left on my next paycheck...
Is there anything I can do to thin the price without loosing necessary things?
you don't even have a gpu

Well the powersupply is larger then you should require you probably only need something like a 600w PSU for that build even less if there is no Gcard (not on list)
And if you are ofcoarse worrying about price and such you can wait for the next paycheck to get things like the CPU cooler which are not necessary plus it will give you some stats on how much it improved your system from the stock cooling.
I'm getting a GTX 460, and will most likely be running in SLI in the near future.

More like this PSU and DVD burner.
How much is the shipping cost alone? Maybe there is a parts dealer closer to where you live because that is at least 200 dollars in shipping costs.
You might be able to shop at TigerDirect w/o tax.
Is my Current build really that bad?
AMD athlon x2 64 6400+
EVGA 9600gt 512mb GDDR3 256bit
3gb of single channel DDR2 ram 667mhz ram.
650w PSU
ASUS mn2pv-vm Motherboard(2006)
Can't I just upgrade some stuff to make it better?
What is your current PSU? Maybe you could reuse that...
