No thanks. Phil Fish is a dick.
Unpopular opinion: Phil Fish is an outspoken guy and definitely has a short fuse, but he isn't a bad person by any means.
Absolutely no platforms confirmed at all, but considering the master race eventually got to play Fez a year after its console debut, we can at the very least hope for a repeat performance with the sequel.
Considering how much bullshit Microsoft put him through (including the patch issue, charging developers out the ass to release bugfixes), I'd assume the opposite is more likely.

Being an asshole to everyone even if he's "kidding" is still being an asshole. Doesn't matter if he's actually the best person in the world, his reputation is still tarnished due to his own asshattery.
here comes the phil fish hate train
all aboard
Unpopular opinion:
More like the honest truth.
He's backpedaled so hard on tons of shit he's said to his fanbase I can't take a word he says seriously now. He's his own worst PR nightmare and thinks he's the next savior of gaming.
No thanks.

And what's bad about hating someone who brings it on themselves?
I like the 80's style trailer however.

the article isn't about phil fish, it's about fez 2.

I know some people don't see it the same way, but I'm not voluntarily going to give money to someone I can't stand. That doesn't make much sense to me.
Luckily Fez was a really mediocre game, and if you want a ~retro puzzle platformer~ you only have thousands of other options.

this is actually a very popular opinion amongst people these days, even in Japan

I knew someone would refer to his opinions on modern Japanese games. I'm not convinced that Video Game Opinions can define him as a bad guy. Does it matter what people's gaming tastes are? :v:a
The $1 discount thing on Twitter was funny and totally overblown, an example of Fish's short fuse, but the discount itself is a non-event. His game is not the only $10 game on Steam to get a 10% discount, but it's one of few that has inspired people to piss up the walls about it. It was funny from both sides of the fence, whether you were laughing with him or at him, and at the end of the day, it didn't hurt anyone.
Don't get me wrong, the guy is not perfect. He's far from infallible, and his personality is bound to be grating for some. But he has a ton of pride in his work, an invested interest in games and entertainment, and he doesn't hide any of it. For better or worse, he's a genuine person, and I can respect that.

It's just insanely hypocritical and idiotic from phil fish to say that considering fez is kind of heavily inspired by cave story.

He's an overstressed douchebag who reacted to internet hype by utter panicking and ended up just insulting everyone and acting like a big tough guy to try and cope with the fact his game actually looked interesting for a while (before we got to actually play it that is) and got a lot of people interested.
He sabotaged his own game by not realizing the importance of PR and just reacting to the public eye by being as much of a jackass as possible.
The reason so little people can stand this guy is because he's just unlivable. And I'm not going to give a single penny to a dick who acts like the hottest shit on earth, and who grew a virtual foot-long because of some insignificant indie game award. Even if most of the insulting shit he posted on twitter ended up being "jokes", ironic shitspitting is still shitspitting and I'm not going to even bother with this guy or his games.
At some point he even tried to get potential buyers in pity by mentioning the artists who worked on the music and such. Well sucks for them, if they aren't getting paid for their work it's Phil Fish and his terrible PR's problem, not mine.
phil fish defenders are the worst
they're like the people who go "WELL if you take away the whole jew thing Hitler was a pretty standup guy"
will it take another 5 years to make?
As long as it's as good as the first, I'll probably like it
I don't give a fuck about phil
Isn't Phil Fish the guy who said he was going to kill himself if Fez wouldn't succeed?

dude it's just video games, it doesn't matter
