Our Motorola SURFboard has been shitting out on us these past few weeks and it's just getting worse and worse. It will only come up when no one is using it, but the second you try to
A. Join an online game
B. Stream anything (youtube, etc)
C. Upload/download a file
D. Any other slightly "strenuous" thing
It will instantly drop. When that happens the lights on the front vary between the incoming light being solid, and the outgoing light flashing steady, to the opposite. Which the instructions say that means it's having a problem establishing a connection or just hangs there.
The modem logs are also spitting out constant errors and other bullshit. A bunch of settings and shit are locked because we're renting this thing from Time Warner. (ughh)
It's become nigh impossible to use the internet, and I can only keep using my phone's wifi hotspot for so long.
Would prefer not to call Time Warner first since their customer support is just about as bad as their service. My fucking phone's 4G is faster than the shit they give us.
So yes, if anyone could give me some suggestions for a good, decently priced (preferably under $100 US) modem that can handle a lot of downloading and uploading, playing games and streaming from 2-3 computers at a time, I would be ever so grateful.
P.S. This is NOT a choose for me thread, I have shopped around and I just can't find anything suitable. I will do my research on any suggestions and decide myself from there.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry but you'll probably need to. You'll need them to verify that the modem itself is the problem and not the connection. If your SNR is terrible for some reason, either due to faulty home wiring or something screwy on the connection before it hits your house then a new modem isn't going to help at all. Also its not really as simple as just plugging in any cable modem, most cable ISPs only support certain models with certain firmware revisions. If you are set on a new modem you would need to ask them which models are compatible.
Bahh, you're right. Will have to wait till Tuesday then. :suicide:
We all just hate dealing with Time Warner.
Constantly giving us faulty DVRs... grumble grumble
At least you aren't bitter about it.
