The only thing I currently have is a monitor. I live in the US so newegg.com is good. I also want it to be able to run Arma 2 and Crysis on high with no lag (reasonble).
When are you buying this? And lemme get this straight: You need an OS, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and a computer?
I am buying probably next week. And yes I need everything but a monitor. [editline]10:24PM[/editline] Added stuff to OP.
Let primastex gather you one, he usually comes up with the best. Any preferences? (NVIDIA, ATI, Intel, AMD, etc)
You should start a religion. [editline]05:17AM[/editline] You seem that obsessed. [editline]05:17AM[/editline] Prismatism
You should start a religion. [editline]05:17AM[/editline] You seem that obsessed.
haha But really, it is true that he knows whats best in most situations.
Really, it depends. I don't look for combo deals, which can lower the price significantly. [editline]01:40AM[/editline] https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/publicWishDetail.aspx?wishlistnumber=14372668 ASUS mobo, PII X3 720, 4870 1GB, 500W Cooler Master PSU, 4GB DDR2 1066, 640GB WD HD, Antec Three Hundred, Vista HP x64 w/ Win7 upgrade, Microsoft mouse and keyboard, Rosewill headset $725 before TS&R If you wanted to save a little money, find some combo deals or cut down on the motherboard or hard drive.
Ok thanks for the build. I was just wondering if it was worth it to get this Video Card instead because it is a 4890 instead of a 4870: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125276
No, get a gtx 275 instead.
Not worth it. If you want to spend $200 on a video card, get this GTX 275: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125279
-snip- Ok I guess I'm all set. Thanks Prismatex.
Ok, sorry for bringign this up again, but my friend built a computer of nearly identical power for $550. The total for my comp now is around $800. Are there any possible ways to cut the price?
No way he did. Show us it.
he probably did combo deals
He got a case + power supply deal for $50. The case wasn't as good as mine but he got the exact same power supply. He also got a 4890 instead of a GTX 275. His proccessor is 3.1 dual core.

Was this case/psu combo a Linkworld or a Sunbeam? [editline]05:46AM[/editline] Was the processor a Pentium D?

Ok, nevermind about my friends build. I just want to reduce the price a bit. Will this power supply work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817193064 Also you forgot optical drives.

The point of going for the PSU I posted was to get a cheaper deal. You posted one that is $8 more.....
your PSU was a pile of shit the point of getting a good PSU isn't to spend more money, it's to make sure it doesn't explode, frying the rest of your components in the process
You REALLY don't want to skimp on a power supply. That's a brand I've never heard of and very well might explode.
Ok, well are there any ways I can dramatically lower the price of my build while still being able to max out ArmA 2, World in Conflict, and Empire at War?
You can save $20 dollars and get a Phenom 2 3.1Ghz dual.. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103680 [editline]07:07PM[/editline] And I don't think for your budget you're going to be able to max World in Conflict etc..
