Hey guys,
So here is the deal. Whenever I try to play a game (Dota, Arma, DayZ) I for some reason disconnect from my router leaving me with either a "Limited access" icon or sometimes an "available networks" icon, this forces me to try and rejoin the network. This means I have to go into "TP-LINK Wireless" to fix it. This is then not responding.
:suicide:
Specs:
TP-LINK 800mbs USB adapter (LOL ikr)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
AMD FX 6300 Six-Core Processor
8Gb RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7770
Gigabyte Motherboard
I hope a solution can be found
What router are you using?
What is the distance between you and your router? How many walls are inbetween?
Why not a wireless PCI card?
1. EchoLife HG 520s
2. Its just below my floor
3. Don't know
I have no idea what would cause it. My guess would go out that your USB dongle doesn't support a protocol / frequency you're using. This doesn't explain why it disconnects when you launch a game, though.
Stupid question: Have you tried disabling your firewall?

Nope, that didn't seem to be something that would help it.
It could've helped if some port Steam uses to change your status to in-game was blocked and something recognized it as a threat, this is indeed a weird one.
You really should let Windows manage your wireless connections, not the USB device's included software.
Noob question: HOW?

Bottom right > Wireless connections > Select your connection > Disconnect
Uninstall the software while disconnected
Bottom right > Wireless connections > Select your connection > Connect
So the problem has evolved, when I play a game the internet fails and I have to manually reboot my PC as nothing responds...
More problems :(
1. My router is showing up with a 2 next to is? *name of router* 2
2. Whenever I try and connect to my router through windows and not TP-LINK I can't connect
3. I keep switching to "Limited access" all the time

This is the sole reason I refuse to ever use a USB dongle ever again. They're so crappy..
If you have an installation disk / it installed its drivers automatically when you connected it, try reinstalling the driver. To make sure you remove the drivers themselves, use device manager:
Start > type 'Device Manager', hit Enter.
Find the 'Network Adapters' tab, click it, right click your dongle and press Uninstall.
Click OK, wait for it to uninstall. It disappears from the Network adapters tab.
Click the Action tab up at the top, and select 'Scan for Hardware changes'.
It should reinstall the drivers. If not, use the CD provided with your dongle.
If that doesn't work, I'm out of options and would suggest finding a PCI or a PCI-e WiFi card.
lol I lost the CD
Then download the newest drivers from the manufacturers website.

I have done that is that all you need?

If you have them downloaded, follow the steps I provided, instead of CD use the downloaded drivers. It ensures a clean install.
