i was just wondering, i never hear about 64 bit OSX. is there 32 and 64 bit?
like on linux and windows?
Leopard currently runs both 32 and 64 bit code in tandem (the Mach-O format allows code for multiple platforms in one executable) on systems that support 64-bit, although I believe the kernel's still 32 bit in order to give leeway to Carbon. Snow Leopard will be either fully 32-bit or 64-bit, depending on the processor, which means that while Macs with a Core will be able to run Snow Leopard, only models with a Core or a Xeon will run Leopard in 64-bit.
does 32 bit osx have the 4gb ram limit?
No. It depends on a model-by-model basis, but OS X has supported PAE since it went x86. The upper limit on high-end models is 32 GB - 4GB is XP/Vista/7's own limitation.

Physical Address Extension. It allows you to access more than 4GB of physical memory.
