Third time I made a thread here gosh Facepunch what would I do without you? <3
So I've saved 1k to upgrade a computer I've built about a year ago. It was built on a budget and now its starting to show. Now I think would be a good time to replace a few parts.
What I currently have
CPU - AMD Phenom II x4 840
RAM - Corsair Memory 4gb Dual Channel DDR3
Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3
VGA - HIS Radeon HD 6850 1GB
Hard Drives - 1T SAMSUNG HD/ 10GB Western Digital
Prephials - GM-M6800/GK-K6800/ Some shitty $30 gaming headset with microphone
Monitor - 38-inch television at 1360x768 I can't bring myself to remember the model. name.
Case - Thermaltake V3 Black Edition
PSU - OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
What I want in the upgrade if possible
*Monitor (2 if possible to replace the TV) to use as a dual-monitor setup.
*Keyboard and Mouse combo
*Better headset that will mostly be used for gaming.
*Replace as many of my old parts as I can with my VGA, and CPU being my main worry.
*A new case would be snazzy too
Thanks ahead if you can figure something out and my budget is flexible from 1k.
What are you mainly going to use it for ?
Gaming ?
CPU-Intensive applications ?
Maybe both ?
Well, all i can suggest is more RAM, and thats pretty much it
I highly suggest waiting a little bit longer for the 660 ti to be released as it will be launched at around $260 and would fit PERFECTLY in this budget.
