When Reloaded took over the game, the database lost my alpha founders' account. I would've come back and tried it if I could've. Oh well, RIP. Meteor Entertainment were incompetent fucks who wasted part of their budget on a comic book and a live action TV series pitch instead of worrying about solidifying the core element of their IP first. When the game left closed beta and "launched", they suddenly ninja'd in microtransaction consumables that let you cheat through several handicapping limitations/gameplay features. They also reduced TTK dramatically, turning tactical mech combat into minmaxing until you could take someone out in one salvo. Between the two of those decisions and the greater mismanagement by the publisher, the game was doomed. The slow pace to content release after they promised one new mech a month for a year (I think they ultimately released three new ones total before Adhesive croaked) just fed the decline. It's sad to see, but it was a great idea executed badly and then incompetently managed after a rushed release so it was inevitable. HAWKEN also had the best mascot: Fred the CR-T Assault mech
Honestly this game always had a love hate thing going on with me. I got into it a little after it had first officially released and thought it was fun until I realized how heavy the meta influenced the gameplay. The fact it was basically call of duty but with mechs seemed like a waste to me, especially since the game had a number of unique and cool designs for all the mechs. Hawken screams and stinks of wasted potential.
My only experience with this was VR and it was incredible. It was my first VR experience and it did one incredible job into actually pulling you into the game.
What a shame, I remember seeing the original gameplay trailers and stuff, and the game looked so dope.
I liked this game, however it made me pretty dizzy when so much things constantly happened
Please, some developer out there... ...make Chromehounds great again! #MCGA
Oh shit, I played this game a long time ago. Didn't really like it, it was pretty dull. To be fair I played it for under 30 minutes though.
Yep that was my experience, looks like titanfall stole the show from it pretty much.

Honestly, this thing's been a shuffling zombie since about 2014. It was only a matter of time. UE3 dedicated servers aren't free to run.
I remember playing this back in the day when it first came out, it was so much fun. It's a real shame it died, but Reloaded is know to be a terrible dev team. They like to milk and kill games.
I remember being excited for this back when i first saw it but never actually got to play it until far into the free to play portion. I wasn't too impressed but that was more due to the microtransations. It's quite a shame, to be honest. I remember this used car website parody they did april fools once. [editline]e[/editline] Found it: https://www.playhawken.com/promotions/khangsmechs
I didn't like hawken as a mech game because it lacked a lot of the things that make mech games good, and i didnt like it as a fps because it lacks what makes a fast paced arena shooter good. Feels like they split between visions and didnt find a good balance.
Mech games are too underrated
