I'm looking to buy a new graphics card and so far I've narrowed it down to either the 470 or the 465. Is the 470 worth the extra money?
Yes.
What are the rest of your specs? Also, what games do you play and at what resolution? [editline]01:11PM[/editline]
Yes.
I thought the GTX465 was worse than the GTX460.
My specs at the moment are Nvidia 8880 GTS 2046 MB of ram Intel Core 2 duo Windows XP 700w psu I play source engine games, BFBC2, Natural selection 2(alpha), GTA, CoD MW2 all played at 1680 x 1050.
Yes
What core 2 duo do you have, what mobo. and what brand PSU?
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, Nforce 680i sli, and Antec.
E6600 gonna bottleneck [editline]08:30PM[/editline] 465 sucks by the way, 460 is better and 470 is even better, 470 is worth the money
Kind off topic but how does the 8800GTS play BFBC2. I was thinking of getting a refurbished one for $50 and my resolution is 1366x768.
I've been experiencing alot of lag today when playing but it could just be the connection.
you didnt specify which GTS you're using, and it matters because the 640 and 320 versions are shit and the 512 is a lot better
1GB GTX 460 is the best budget card for 200$. In SLI it even out preforms 1 GTX 480 (a 500$ value) for only 400$.
While on topic, would a Q6600 be bottlenecked by a 470?
While on topic, would a Q6600 be bottlenecked by a 470?
a little bit [editline]08:56PM[/editline] not much though, it depends on the game really CPU intensive games like Crysis, (most intensive of both worlds, really) L4D, BC2 and GTA IV will suffer

Course, most of the games I play. May have to OC it to keep up, seeing as I might be getting a 470 soon.
