I went to a garage sale a few days ago and there was an alienware case laying on the ground.
I asked how much and he said I could have it for free. Anyways I looked inside of it and there is a motherboard, DVD drive, 160GB HD and a processor.
1. The motherboard is a P5ND2 and it's an SLI board.
This is what it looks like: http://www.ixbt.com/mainboard/asus/p5nd2-sli-deluxe/board.jpg
2. How can I tell what processor is in it? I took the heatsink off but there is nothing that really determines what it is.
3. The mobo accepts 667mhz RAM (Or something like that). Does that mean I can't use my 800mhz RAM
Thanks in advance
Does it even work?
1. Link's broken; here's the newegg link: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131578&ATT=13-131-578
2. Can you take it out, put it in another LGA775 board if you have one and run CPUZ?
3. You can use DDR2-800.
I have DDR2 800
I dont know if it works because I have a AMD Motherboard.
I could always just rebuild it with my parts in my other machine.
But I just don't want to wait forever to get it all setup.
I'm sure it works I talked to the guy and he said it was ok and he just removed the parts he needed for his kids computer.
Or something of that nature.
holy fuck what a shitty board

Can you stop spamming Hardware & Software with these 1 word fucking replys. Am I the only one who's getting annoyed by this?
An alienware case? At a garage sale?
Have another look at the top of the processor. Wipe off any thermal shit left behind - and note the model number and any other info that will be etched on there. Should be obvious from that what processor it is. If not, post it here.
I threw it away.
The guy said it was a pentium 4.
Thats all he said.
