I recently got my hands on an old eMac (I think c. 2003-2004), from a garage sale for my baby sister and brother's first computer. They're very sleek and I love the way they look. It has OS X Tiger on it, but I had to reset it to default and I'm pretty glad that it runs so well and is in such mint condition. After some fixes and updates, it's all good to go and it's actually quite a speedy machine. I might use it as a Facepunch computer sometimes. It runs surprisingly smooth with OS X on it..
I think I'll get a PowerBook or an iBook soon just to have as little collectible items. I'll post pics when I make the decision sometime this week. Post your pics + stories of your vintage Macs/Apple devices.

First thing *anyone* should do with a Classic-capable Mac is install OS9 on it.
My friend recently got an old emac, pretty much identical to the one in that picture. He needed a mac since he used macs at college to create music with Logic Pro but he wanted to do work at home, but wanted something as cheap as possible so he got that. Works pretty speedy
I'd like to have some machine that could run System 7, I loved that OS. Now if only I had room for those kinda things...
thanks to Apple's yearly product cycle, anything older than 2 years is considered vintage :v:

There's truth in this - the 1G iTouch was serendipity. Hate the contoured back on the newer ones.

i hate the back on all of them, fucking scratch magnets
oh and also i'm pretty sure the first gen ipod touch lost support when 4.0 released which was a whole 4 years which is a pretty damn good chunk of time
i got an ipod mini recently, don't know if thats like worthy of posting here or not

pretty clever and simple design of its time
i used to fetch 30 or so songs at random for my pc daily onto it (512mb)
Well until I sent the broken pieces for the recall, I had a 1GB first generation iPod Nano.
Now I'd like you to meet my good old friend:

Nice box (better than the bitch-to-open plastic cases), cleaning cloth, nice device design too.
Even though I have a replaced it with a 32GB 3G iPod Touch a couple years ago, I fall in love with it every time I pull it out. It was my first touch screen device, and back in 2007 there was no app store, just the features from Apple. Now, there's millions of apps to choose from. It's pretty amazing.
I want to see if I can downgrade it to an older iOS version, when there wasn't the new dock.
i still have one of those macs with the screen connected to the little half dome, if anyone wants pics just ask

Just how badly does that run on a new version of iOS?
Interesting note. Apple officially consider something "Vintage" after 5 years and "Obsolete" after 8 years.
I have a 1st gen iPod touch but only a few weeks after release, then, just a few months later, they release the 2nd gen which was like $130 cheaper. fuck.

Surprisingly well actually, but games do slow it down a lot.
