Hey guys, I'm not so good when it comes to estimating power requirements for a rig, so would a Corsair 650W TX be enough to support; Asus P7P55D-E LX Intel i5 760 2x2GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM 640GB SATA3 HDD ATI HD5770 Thanks for any help.
Yes I'm pretty sure that'd be more than enough. Even a 550W would probably be enough.
Have you bought the computer yet?
Yes, it's enough.
Have you bought the computer yet?
No, this is something I'm hoping to have the funds for come Christmas/New year, just designing it for now. I think I'll stick with the 650 in case I need to upgrade later on.
Don't decide on stuff yet if you are going to buy it for Christmas/New year.
Don't decide on stuff yet if you are going to buy it for Christmas/New year.
Why not? If something new comes out that's better for less/the same price then I'll just keep revising the build.
Why not? If something new comes out that's better for less/the same price then I'll just keep revising the build.
Because there will be some new components within a few months [editline]24th October 2010[/editline] Like the new Intel chipset, the others Radeon HD 6000, the future "GTX 475", etc...
I have almost the same setup with a 500w PSU
I have almost the same setup with a 500w PSU
Cutting it a bit fine in my opinion.
Cutting it a bit fine in my opinion.
not at all
Come back in two months with a budget and we'll make you a better build
Come back in two months with a budget and we'll make you a better build
Well currently my budget is around £700, I'll be keeping an eye on all things within the i5 mid-range gaming PC area so if something better comes out I won't miss it.
I already have this made, so just take the monitor off. Although as said above things may change it's something to aim for http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/cae5014107c345319d25b5fd78cf2407
i ran I7 920@4Ghz and Radeon HD5830 1Gb on Enermax Modu82+ 525W for some time before thunderstorm ended the story of my Enermax Modu82+ 525W so 650W for that is way more than enough.
