• Redirect a folder to a partition?

Is there any way to redirect any folder to a separate partition seamlessly? Reason being is because I have a 30GB SSD for my operating system, and programs and other things quickly take up space on it. (Can't choose where to install certain programs for example). It would be nice to redirect whatever is assigned to or is in ./Program Files/ (x86) to say, a Program Files folder on a terabyte partition. I wouldn't have to manually set the fucking install path for everything. I think this may work [editline]9th November 2010[/editline] it's his 5th post down
Any..one
I think you can make a folder mount point via Disk Management. You CAN do it.
Where is the option to make a folder mount?
I wonder how long this will take.
Couldn't you just move the folders over and make a Program Files / Program Files (x86) symlink leading to the new folder? Relative symbolic links: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa363878(VS.85).aspx
Thank you. But I don't understand. I get the idea but how would I do this?

I moved my profile directory onto a second partition with symlink magic. OP's best bet (since Program Files is not exactly a dir you can delete before mounting a partition there) is to launch the recovery tools from the Windows disk, move Program Files to another drive, then create an NTFS junction point
Why would I need to move steam to another hard drive when it is already there. This is no help.
just look into symlinks (mklink /J "symname" "target")
