• Good (FREE) Virus Scanner/Remover?
    29 replies, posted
I've been having trouble updating Windows, and I've noticed that all of the recent security updates have failed. My guess is that it's obviously a virus, but my IObit Security 360 can't find the accursed thing. Any help?
Avast, AVG, Malwarebytes.
Will any of these conflict with with one another? Could I run a mass-scan with multiple scanners?
Most all AVs will conflict. Malwarebytes is only for malware, but I haven't noticed any conflicts. Avast! is territorial though, and I'm unsure of AVG.
Viruses count as malware, correct? (In Malwarebytes' terms?)
If you're confused just install avast and all will be good.
Windows Security Essentials is also a very good alternative, silent as hell, but very efficient.
Avast.
Be a man and buy Nod32.

Microsoft Security Essentials.

Get Microsoft Security Essentials as your real-time scanner, and use MalawareBytes to do a full scan once a week. [editline]04:49AM[/editline] Also use common sense when downloading and visiting websites.
I saw this on the main page and only saw "Good (FREE) Virus". I wasn't expecting this I can tell you that much.

MSE is good. It runs flawless, and I haven't had a virus yet.
MSE is good. It runs flawless, and I haven't had a virus yet.
That's because it can't detect any. You prob. have about 50 hidden on yorr computer right now :smithicide:
Is it really good? Or is every one trolling
This isn't /b/, not everyone here trolls you. I have MSE, my best mate has MSE, hell alot of people I know have MSE, it's a good AV.

I use AVG Free, however avast is alright.
Get Microsoft Security Essentials and Spybot Search & Destroy and you'll be fine. (Both are free).
Sorry to bump this topic but does anybody have a link to the threat about comodo, i tried looking everywhere for it but i just can't find it.
avira
Avira as the man posted above, tis the best.
Get MSE
Scan with Malawarebytes and then use Microsoft Security Essentials, never came across a situation where it didn't remove the virus.
