Both the Autumn sale and Winter sale have been pretty bad. Only games I have bought are Red Faction and Metal Gear Rising.
Shadow Warrior and Tomb Raider are decent deals, though. Witcher 2 regularly goes 75% off.

That's because the same games you've already bought last year are on sale again.
Ever sale it's the exact same games. The only difference is that other people get the chance to get the games they want. Just because you have them all already doesn't mean others don't, and that it's a bad sale. Many people still don't have Oblivion.
EDIT:
Also, sales on steam are becoming less about actual sales and more about gimmicks. This snow globe bullshit this year is exactly that: bullshit. I want a sale, not dumb gimmicks running the show.
For anyone buying Max Payne 3. At this point when it comes to DLC just buy the COOP pack (Deathmatch Made In Heaven Pack). That is if you have a friend and he has that pack, too.
It's disappointing that I own pretty much all of these games but I can't deny they are great games.
The Witcher 2, Dragon Age Origins, and Oblivion for $15 combined is insane value if you like fantasy RPGs.
Most of these games if not all are worth it
The only game I haven't had any experience with on this list is Crusader Kings II, so I can safely say every game on this sale is more than worth it.
Holy mother of god, I'm really tempted to buy this:

Not sure what everyone is complaining about. I'm so excited to get Max Payne 3, Antichamber, Machinarium, and Duck Tales for under $20. The current flash, community and daily sales are pretty good at the moment.

They're just not really good deals. You could have gotten most of these games at the same price throughout the year with the daily deals/midweek madness/weekend deals/whatever else they do now. Not to mention other sites offering really competitive prices. Amazon totally kicked Steam's ass during the Autumn sale.

Competition is great.
And like I said, Steam is focusing on gimmicks rather than sales. Though that doesn't stop these games from being good deals, regardless if they were a daily deal or whatever at one point.

Hey, this snowglobe shit makes good money. I've been able to buy some games on this sale without actually spending a fucking dime.
Sure the cards and gimmicks are retarded, but I haven't spent a fucking dime on Steam in almost a year because of it. Idiots buy these things like candy, and I have so many alts I can farm them forever.
Is Shadow Warrior worth getting? (assuming I like the games like Painkiller/Serious Sam)

How can you say they're not good deals? Most of these games are 75% off which is a pretty fuckin good sale if you ask me.

It's not that the prices are bad, it's just the lack of variety. This is the same shit that goes on sale all the time with the exception of a few games.

If you haven't already played those and plan on getting Max Payne 3, get these instead.
I remember a few years back there would be franchise packs and similar deals everywhere.
Now it's just games.
What do you mean? Normally when a game is on sale, the collection packs also are. Example: Max Payne 3 is on sale, but also the collection and the other games are also on sale.
Got Max Payne 3, too bad its 30gb and I'm in Australia
That's a lot of dedication here
and everything is fucking card bullshit. Just wait till its over when the card prices go down to like 5 cents each just like summer sale if you really want the badges.
It's because THQ is gone. THQ was secretly Christmas.

But the winter cards disappear when the sale ends.
who cares about cards anymore that shit was so mid-2013
has max payne 2 aged well?
has max payne 2 aged well?
Gameplay wise both MP1 and 2 have aged incredibly well, they're still a ton of fun to play even now.
Tomb Raider is supposed to be at $5 on Amazon 12/24

I own Max Payne 2 on CD but bought this just for the 'steam' library benefit. I wish the cutscenes were skippable in MP3 otherwise I'd be all over it

The cutscenes are loading screens, you can skip then once the next part of the level is loaded.
has max payne 2 aged well?
I would say so. I occasionally play it again and it's quite fun.
has max payne 2 aged well?
Absolutely. I replayed it with a widescreen fix, amazing experience. As for MP1 I personally feel the bullets fly a bit slower but remember, save often and it's fine.
Is La Mulana any good? It's 90% off, just wondering if anyone has had any experience with it.
Out of the fantasty RPGs, which one would you recommend if I can only have one? Witcher 2, DA:O, or Oblivion?
