When I am playing games on multiplayer, some times lag spikes occur - everything around me freezes up but I can still move and do my things, then it un-freezes and everything continues on it's own, so basicly it is really annyoing and I have died multiple times in-game because of this.
Connected through the wi-fi, it is an internet which multiple people use because of the type of flat I live in, so it's useless to try to get access to router. Any help how can I at least minimize how often the lag spikes occur?

If multiple people are using the connection they could be doing things which may impact your connection.
Streaming video content and P2P often do this.
Also wifi can sometimes be an issue.
Who is your internet service provider?
There's so many factors that could cause what you experience because of this setup and its going to be a bitch to troubleshoot. Do you have the ability to go wired? that's what i would try first. 2nd I would start up a contentious ping write it to a log file and see if there is a pattern to the spikes, for instance if you see after 6pm frequent spikes it could just be related to other peoples traffic, If its completely random it leans towards interference from electrical devices affecting the Wifi.

TalkTalk UK.
If you're using wireless, that's why. I had the same problem. Try getting a direct line to your router/modem. Or make sure your wireless adapter and wireless router/modem are capable of streaming realtime game data like that.
