• Upgrading an Aspire 3610

Hey everyone, last night I fixed an old Aspire 3610 I had lying around for a few months, and I'd like to know how extensively I can upgrade this thing, It's in pretty poor shape hardware wise and I'm tired of constant lag on it. Speccy: Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 32-bit SP2 CPU Intel Celeron M 370 Dothan 90nm Technology RAM 1.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 99MHz (3-3-3-8) Motherboard Acer Morar (U1) 77 °C Graphics The specified service has been marked for deletion. Hard Drives 75GB Hitachi HTS421280H9AT00 (PATA) 44 °C Optical Drives TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L532U Audio Realtek AC'97 Audio I don't know whats going on with the graphics tab, but two minutes ago it was showing -- Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family -- Two times. Now I know to keep my expectations low with this, but even youtube lags. I found that I can also play older games like Silent Hunter 3, but the computer's FPS slows to a crawl when the camera is above water. I'd really like to upgrade this thing to the max and see what it can do, but I've got no idea what I'm looking for, I'm more of a software guy and not a hardware guy.
Looks incredibly outdated... You could get a Pentium M from ebay but that might not improve much. Also just be aware that 478 and 479 sockets look physically similar but the electrical configuration is different. Get CPUID, it should tell you which socket the machine uses.
'Socket 479 mPGA' Is what CPU-Z gives me
You're not getting shit out of that - a netbook can easily counter that computer.. Some tablets are faster...
I think you might get some cash out of that from a museum.
