Info: I'm gonna update(this one) my driver for my GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+.
Simple question: Do I have to uninstall my current driver first, or does it simply update?
Side notes...
1. I updated(I think) drivers last month, but I didn't uninstall the original.
-Would/should I have any GPU related problems?
2. I have more info on which drivers are installed
-Do you need it?
its better to uninstall the old ones but you don't have to.
AKA: Recommended uninstall first.
you might get errors/crashes/bluescreens if you dont uninstall. might.

I'm dumb :downs:
Nah, i still have old ATI drivers, all it does is popup a little message saying that im not using ati anymore, and that it wont let me use the ati control panel.
No, I've had nVidia on this PC. I didn't mean I had any other brands
Oh.
disregard my post, i'm collecting books, y'know!
You don't really need to uninstall if you're just updating drivers.
Since Windows installs its own drivers when you reboot after uninstalling, doesn't it defeat the purpose?
Never had problems with updating drivers if i didn't uninstall the previous ones

I don't know what you're using, but this has never happened on XP, Vista, or 7 whenever I use them.

these errors/crashes/bluescreens are FUCKING RARE though, I've never had either, and I don't uninstall older drivers first.

windows installs default, but get uninstalled when you install manufacturer drivers. or something. because they don't interefere.

Vista installs some type of official Nvidia driver because I still have the Nvidia control panel. Checking the version number, it's usually one that's 5 versions old or so.
