Hope it goes through, mashing Tidal with Apple Music will make a good combination of getting exclusive albums only available on Apple Music for a period of time or perhaps indefinite time. Making Spotify suffer some more. Can't see this going wrong. Good thing I have both Spotify and Apple Music for these situations though.
Apple Lossless Music? Sign me up!
I just use Google Play Music, even on my iPhone.
Hence why they want to buy Tidal so they can actually you know have lossless music?
Tidal has a lot of exclusives and exclusives premieres, that's what mainly drives the service, that is likely what they are after. Although i don't doubt Apple's ability to sell "Highest Quality Music" to the masses(even though 90% of them doesn't even have the hardware to hear the difference). I do doubt that enough artists signed lossless exclusivity with Tidal, because that would be like selling exclusive 4K movie rights to a single-company, under the notion that it isn't relevant yet right now.
It's perfect for Apple to try and do this though especially with how they've turned their new lightning headphones into a premium product, they kind of need a streaming service that provides with the required sound quality for their headphones to be used for.
