• Computer randomly shuts down, won't post, and automatically starts up if I flip on the PSU switch

My computer has progressively gotten worse since I got back from spring break. It started with random shut downs, Directx driver failures, and black screen with the computer still running. I thought maybe it was my Overclocking settings, but that has no effect. I thought maybe it was my power supply, but I went to frys and got quick replacement to check and that didn't help. Now my computer will turn on but no post, the GPU fan doesn't spin, the front panel fan doesn't spin, and I have to manually shut it down by flipping off the power supply. My specs are: Asrock Z77 mini itx 8 gigs of corsair ddr3 ram gtx670 Corsair AX850 Corsair H100 UPDATE: Took out GPU, been fine since. Will test it on my brothers computer tmrw and try another in mine.
Reset everything, especially the mother board power connector. Go into Windows' Power Management settings and make sure there are NO conditions under which your machine will shut down or hibernate. If you have a UPS, disable its monitoring software for your tests. Here's your software fix, if it is a software problem.. update to windows Windows 7 1. Just like XP or Vista, they all have service packs, you always want the latest one. If you have a cracked version of Win7 it can be a problem as well, as the crack may not work the way you want no more with SP1. You said it isn't your GPU which is the problem, since you've tested it out. And you've got a very powerful PSU, but are you sure it haven't taken any damage. It might not deliver enough power for your PC. You should test it out on your brothers computer as well.. Otherwise your graphics card is burning out *Starting to Fail*, OR.. overheating. And speaking of heating, your CPU could also be an easy cause of this but a lot easier to monitor. I hope that helped out.

To be honest - I remember the old thread I made, they pretty much told me to do anything without anything helping. I think we will experience the same here, maybe you should bring it to Frys? And let them try out the PC - I really thought what I was saying would help, urgh.
Turned out to be the extra pins that go with the main 20 motherboard pins were abit out. Which allowed the machine to power on, but not enough power to allow the GPU to work fully. Extremely frustrating to say the least. Only noticed till I opened the case from the other side.
