Don't do anything dangerous, if you die in New York, you die IN REAL LIFE.

NYC has some of the best pizza in the world. You know what to do.

Also this.
Local here.
There's these two restaurants you should really try. The first is called Jekyll and Hyde. The food isn't very good but the entertainment is really amazing. The second is called Mars 2112, where it's like Jekyll and Hyde but space themed. It's a kid restaurant though.

Oh i have fond memories of both :allears:
Go take pictures of awesome graffiti.
Basically walk, walk as you've never walked before.
You probably already know about every major highlight in the city (and they're all even better once you're there), so I'm gonna suggest some lesser known ones:
The Intrepid is an incredible floating museum, it's an aircraft carrier that served in three different wars, has great pieces (an A12, basically an early SR71, an F14, and most importantly, a Concorde, the last ever flown) and you can visit it entirely. It's great fun.
Brooklyn Heights, a very upper class residential area of Brooklyn, has one of the best views of lower Manhattan. It's incredibly beautiful, peaceful and charming at the same time. I would love to live there.
Greenwich village is very nice aswell.
I went to NYC three months ago, and it was undoubtedly one of my best trips ever. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Get mugged in a dark alley. It's the most popular attraction in New York. :downs:
Walk.
No, seriously, just walk.
I guarantee shit will happen, be it finding a restaurant or getting mugged, something will happen.
Yeah just explore on foot, always something new to see. I took a tour of the United Nations and enjoyed that (free). Could also try for tickets to the Daily Show but there's a big waiting list.
Get mugged.
Yer, I'll get mugged for making Half Life 2: Lost Coast 99 dollars.

Do everything you would do in GTAIV.
I suggest you go to the public library in Manhattan, its freaking beautiful inside.
Go around 97th and Amsterdam Ave. to get good italian (forgot the name of the restaurant dur). Go to 89th and Broadway for wonddderful Jap food. Place is called Haiku. Very small, prices are okay, and the food is delicious. Go to 120th and Amsterdam Ave to get shot. Go up to the newspaper guys on the corner and ask them for a bag, they won't know what a bag is. Stick your face in that green puddle on the corner of the sidewalk. Bike in central park, go see Times Square, uhh go see a Play on Broadway. Natural History and MET are a must imo.
If you get on a tour bus, fuck you stop looking at us like we're accessories to the city, we are people.
Have fun :buddy: NYC is just a lot of lights and sights, so other than looking around, it's just been a city for me
