I missing a CPU, Graphics card, HDD, and some RAM. I've picked out these so far CPU $ 94.99 http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_64&item_id=030181&sid=29he6lo37lg0eijjsjllt6jb94 Graphics Card $ 104.99 http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_559&item_id=028077&sid=29he6lo37lg0eijjsjllt6jb94 HDD $ 47.99 http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=15_210_212&item_id=009467&sid=29he6lo37lg0eijjsjllt6jb94 RAM $ 65.99 http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_313_621&item_id=013637&sid=29he6lo37lg0eijjsjllt6jb94 Total = $ 354.77 My budget is 360. At most can go to 400 if the upgrades worth it. This is for minor gaming like world of warcraft, Counterstrike.etc Would be cool if i can max out WoW or play on decently high graphics. Are these parts good? I'd prefer buying from Canadacomputers.com because they're located pretty much across the street from where i live.
Whats your mobo
Use www.newegg.com I would think about getting an X4, like an Athlon. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150482 or the powercolor version
Whats your mobo
Asus M2N-E http://www.asus.com/ProductGroup2.aspx?PG_ID=mKyCKlQ4oSEtSu5m and i wanna use canadacomputers its a cheaper cause of no delivery charges
which one?
Opps the link didnt update :\ try this one for mobo http://ca.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=NFlvt10av3F7ayQ9
Shit'll fit atleast.. But go with the Athlon II x4 630/20 derlicuos suggested, it's the cheapest quad you'll find and it's performing pretty well from benchmarks I've seen.
I think for the games you listed, assuming a resolution of 1680x1050 or lower, then a fast dual core is all you need. Spend the rest on the fastest videocard you can get. For those games, a quad core isn't really going to do as much, especially if it's a budget quad core(ie no L3 cache). I'd probably go with a GTS 250 instead of a 9800GT, even if the GTS only has 512mb and the GT has 1gb. I think you want speed more than anything. If you are gaming at higher res then maybe the extra memory would be better than a faster card.

Or just don't get a GTS250/9800GTX+ Get a 5770.

The differing memory speeds are probably because different manufacturers don't always use the same memory. The GTS250 is actually a minutely better card in terms of power consumption because it has a modified PCB.

Well the 4870 is basically a 5770 with dx11 BASICALLY
nVidia can be really lazy.
gee, they improved a card and replaced it with the old one! what a fucking scam not like that perfect ATi who never "rebrand" anything!
gee, they improved a card and replaced it with the old one! what a fucking scam not like that perfect ATi who never "rebrand" anything!
He didn't say ATI was perfect, it just happens to be that they have better fps/$ in this price range for dx 10. I would like to point out for fun that NVIDIA used a whole number series to re-brand a mobile chip (GT 330), it would have made things simpler if Fermi was GTX 380.
gee, they improved a card and replaced it with the old one! what a fucking scam not like that perfect ATi who never "rebrand" anything!
The only thing I don't really like about nvidia right now is the stupid gt 300 series. Just kinda annoys me. But hey the make money off of it which leads to better cards in the future.

Just look at Intel's core i7 series, the fact that in the second batch, some changed sockets but not branding, just the 3 digit number, and AMD went from four digits (athlon 5000+) to three in their new line (Athlon II 250). The only parts that stayed were the word Core, and Athlon/Phenom, so we would recognize the brand without a logo.
Did I say anything about ATI? Quit looking for fanboyism that isn't even present.
I'm actualy quite enjoying this, so far he's like NVIDIA's attack dog, say anything nice about ATI or anything bad about NVIDIA and he'll snap at you, down boy. :smugdog:

Get a 5770
love it when people think you have to be on a side they're GPUs, they show an image on the screen look at the product not the fucking brand
We were talking about how Nvidia re-branding a lot of their cards. Theres nothing biased about it. Now stop suggesting that people are being fanboys. I own four ATi cards. I really couldn't care less what brand a GPU is.
