Well today I am going to be buying a new hard drive, the spin point is cheaper than the black caviar, but I am not sure if the spin point has faster read/write speeds than the black caviar.

Alright, I shall purchase, I don't think I have enough money for the Black Caviar anyway.
I second the spinpoint.
I second the spinpoint.
Not necessary seeing as reap and odellus are usually right about everything. [editline].[/editline] EVERYTHING
Spinpoint.
I love my caviar black, but I heard spinpoints are just as good. Get whats cheaper I suppose.

I just got a Caviar Black with a Velociraptor, both awesome! I say Caviar Black, but I like Western Digital so I could be biased.
They're both pretty good. Whatever's cheaper.
Eh, well I bought the Black Caviar, because they didn't have the spinpoint and I'm desperate for more space on my computer, mean while my friend bought a hd5770 and I installed that for him.
The Caviar Blacks are generally faster and more reliable in the long run (5+ years), but there is quite the price difference.

[editline].[/editline] EVERYTHING
*cough* More like nothing. *cough* Also in my RAID0 of 2x1 Spinpoint F3 1TB they averaged 230MB/s read and peaked 270MB/s read, half full they did 180'ish on average, which is still pretty good.
Spinpoint, dude.

For some reason it was both cheaper than Newegg, AND was in retail packaging. My mind was blown, considering Best Buy overprices everything.

Also the a50 sitting next to it in best buy was 40 bucks.
