well obviously valve can't do the three strike system
tbh I'm glad I don't play games like csgo
Once me and some friends squadded up and we got put against a team who had two people griefing. One was standing in spawn just spinning, while the other would'nt even try. Because there was two the other would stop any votekicks.
We felt so bad for the three regular people on the enemy team.
The game ended with us normal folk using knives only so we could try to squeeze SOME FUN out of that abysmal match
I've literally never seen anyone banned by Overwatch for griefing so the work that went into this system is probably pretty pointless anyway

I've been banned for greifing by it once.

This guy's a huge CSGO youtuber and streamer who fucked around with his friends and got overwatch banned for griefing

I feel like this is every match I play with my friends. We always get griefers on our teams because we end up muting them for abusing chat. Last thing I want to hear while trying to listen for footsteps is some 10 year old screaming into his mic or a 32 year old fedora humper telling me to go back to Call of Duty because I'm using a shotgun and listing off reasons why Neon Genesis Evangelion is a real anime.
That second one has happened to me only twice, but still
while i agree some forms of griefing are definitely asking for bans i don't get how they want prevent abuse of the system in first place
The "Competitive Cooldowns and Bans" FAQ opens with a stern warning, outlined in red, that "cooldowns and bans are non-negotiable and cannot be removed or reduced by Steam Support."
or do i get it ... they do not care

I've never seen anyone griefing, other than maybe a few tk rage shots, but nothing actually disruptive and over a period of time.
I'd say this only happens at the lowest of levels?
What if I'm just really bad and it looks like griefing
"Community Run" and "Permanent Ban" are two terms that should not go together.

It's really hard for overwatchers to detect griefers unless they're blatantly doing something along the lines of spinning in spawn or intentionally damaging teammates.
It's often impossible to see if someone's deliberately trying to throw the game or just playing bad, since anyone from any rank can be a suspect.

It's not griefing thats the issue
its this crybaby SJW douchebag system that is

nah, it happens at every rank probably
At my time as SMFC and around there I still met plently of people who decided to fuck up everything about the game because something didn't go their way. The game (goes for every team-based competitive game to be honest) is filled with those kind of people and at every rank. They're unavoidable.
Sometimes you just run in to those people who decide that the only reasonable thing to do to a teammate who bought an autosniper is to teamkill them, then spend the entire round trying to throw it away, ending up getting killed, and then blaming that teammate for losing the game, probably followed by a votekick.

What does this mean
"Community Run" and "Permanent Ban" are two terms that should not go together.
Giving communities power is NEVER a good thing. It will always be abused in the end.

you're late to the party. csgo has had community run "administration" for a bit now. I doubt they're going to actually permaban people without reviewing cases.

They don't it goes Overwatch through a bunch of reviewers and then goes through to Volvo for final decision. I mean they can even ban for you abusive text chat and how long would that take to look at.

It means he doesn't play CS:GO

Or any multiplayer game with hackers for that matter if he thinks overwatch is a bad system.
