I'm getting a 5770 for my rig in a while, and I was wondering if anybody ever got PhysX working on the ATI cards. Not a deal breaker, but you've gotta love all those little perks about it.
no
Aw.
dumb question you might as well be asking if you buy a meal at burger king will you still get a mcdonalds kids meal toy
dumb question you might as well be asking if you buy a meal at burger king will you still get a mcdonalds kids meal toy
that would fucking rock
dumb question you might as well be asking if you buy a meal at burger king will you still get a mcdonalds kids meal toy
Since there were people working on making it work on ATI cards, it isn't really a dumb question. you could get an ATI card and a cheap Nvidia card and use the hacked drivers that allow it.
that would fucking rock
nah man burger king toys were always better quality than macdonalds toys
No because Physx is meant only for nvidia. There's a MOBO out there(I think it's MSI Big Bang) which can support both ATI and Nvidia cards. Maybe you would like to try that :)
Lots of motherboards support both.
Lots of motherboards support both.
at once?
at once?
I think he's talking about the motherboards that support both brands of motherboards, AKA any, and that he didn't understand the fact of using both kinds at once.
Surely you could buy the separate PhysX card? Unless NVidia have also pulled support for that too..? In which case I'd assume there are hacked drivers for that.
Yes. http://www.ngohq.com/news/14219-physx-gpu-acceleration-on-radeon-hd-3850-a.html But he didn't release it.
dumb question you might as well be asking if you buy a meal at burger king will you still get a mcdonalds kids meal toy
Mcdonalds toys smell of plastic cheese.
There are some cracked ATi drivers for PhysX, but I haven't found them.Just google for them. I'm to lazy to do that.

I want some Subway.

no, thats different. That one allows to run NVIDIA cards with ATI cards to allow physx (nvidia CARD DOES PHYSX) [editline]07:53PM[/editline] nvm im a dumb faggot
Well no... Thats why I am a BFG user.
physx is pretty useless anyway [editline]08:15PM[/editline] big woop it makes batmans cape move in arkham asylum
physx is pretty useless anyway [editline]08:15PM[/editline] big woop it makes batmans cape move in arkham asylum
But capes are awesum.
also you could pick up an old physx card http://www.amazon.com/Physx-Card-128-Mb-PCI/dp/B000FLWCB4
Is ATI better than Nvidia?
Is ATI better than Nvidia?
depends on what you're doing. It's more what's better suited to your needs.
I'm getting a 5770 Any one know where to get drivers so I can use my 8600 GTS as a physX card?
physx is pretty useless anyway [editline]08:15PM[/editline] big woop it makes batmans cape move in arkham asylum
:downs: the cape already moves. it adds a shit load of fog/steam, leaves, papers, banners/flags, and in the hospital ward it adds those weird clear plastic curtain things. to be honest it actually does make the immersion better, if you really think the game's no better with physx than without you're deluded. mirror's edge is the only other (available) title that comes to mind that really uses physx, but the only point in that game where you'll really notice are the stupid cheesey parts that they obviously just threw in there for a comparison video.
I just want PhysX to do regular physics, not stupid fog monster-thing shit
I just want PhysX to do regular physics, not stupid fog monster-thing shit
it does if i remember correctly, it just does this other stuff on top of it so that there's an actual visible difference. at least with UT3, even not on a PhysX map, having hardware physics on increased performance by about 20-30%. that was the demo though not sure about the full game. anyway, quick comparison examples (sort of i had to finish some shit before i could go outside :| took a while) PhysX High PhysX Off PhysX High PhysX Off [editline]11:24PM[/editline] not just in those places either it's all the fuck over the place
