• My monitor shuts off after one second of being turned on.

Shit's not working. It started happening two days ago, I tried it several times and it would eventually stay on, but today it just shuts off after a split second of being turned on. Google says that turning the brightness down should solve the issue most of the time so it sucks up less power, but I can't turn it down if the monitor won't even turn on.
Sounds like you have the same issue I had one year ago with my old monitor. I have tried everything too, even dissembling it and checking the voltage and stuff. It was not worth the time for me so I bought myself a better monitor. I really want to know how to leave it on longer than just a few seconds.
Fuck. [editline]25th June 2013[/editline] I plugged in an extra monitor with a VGA port it to my motherboard (my graphics card doesnt have any VGA port), but it doesn't seem to be getting the signal. The monitor turns on, but the light is orange and it's not showing anything. It works fine on another computer, so it can't be the extra monitor. Help?
Because you connected another display you might need to re-apply the Extend or Duplicate function, just hit Windows key + P and select the display function which you prefer.
Did you make any changes since then? Especially with going into the case and touching anything? EDIT: I had a friend who recently went into his case, moved the RAM modules around, turned it on and it worked, turned it back off, played with the RAM modules again, and now he has the no signal warning come up. Everything powers on but no signal on the dedicated GPU and the integrated GPU with two different monitors and cables. Ended up having to buy a new motherboard in the end.
Could be the Inverter, power supply, or backlight might be bad.
