• Build Check

Well, its getting closer and closer to due date, so I went back to check on the build made in http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=847684 thread. I decided to make some changes and ended up with this: Now, for the questions. First, I will be adding at least two, and maybe 4 or more of http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_327&products_id=21357. Will the PSU be able to handle all of that? Also, is this build still good? Will everything(hardware wise) be good to go out of the box?
Ok. Get this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136218' Rosewill PSU will probably blow up.Get this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171046
That link is bad.
Fix'd [editline]07:33PM[/editline]
Ok. Get this. it might put you over budget but it'll also stop your build from becoming an expensive paperweight, or maybe a doorstop [editline]03:47AM[/editline] also the MoBo should come with the cable
Fix'd [editline]07:33PM[/editline] Will a bare hard drive come with the needed cables and such? That puts me over budget.
The motherboard comes with the SATA cables. And spend the extra money and spare your computer from blowing up.
The motherboard comes with the SATA cables. And spend the extra money and spare your computer from blowing up.
If this build was for myself, I wouldn't think twice, but this is part of a larger project on a very strict budget. Actually, I don't need anything more than a 250GB hard drive. That should give me the extra bit for the better PSU. I guess I'll hold off on that decision until I find the projector. Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can find an incredibly cheap short-throw projector? When I say cheap, I mean 640x480 resolution max. Thanks for the responses guys.
Why get 4 super unnecessary fans? Throw one away and then you have enough to get the hard drive and the PSU...
Tiny bit more but well worth it. Hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152096 Cpu/Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.308546 Ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161183 Psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171046

I'm sorry if I appear to be disagreeable, but I want to make sure I am getting the very best for the money; thanks for all the help so far. [editline]10:24PM[/editline] Also, the way I have the setup currently, I have $148 max for the mobo & CPU. Would I get more for my money if I went with a dedicated card?
hold on
Do you really need 4GB of ram with this build? If you don't you could probably save 40 dollars and go with 2GB instead.
more ram means more space even i want 8 gb of ram
more ram means more space even i want 8 gb of ram
What the fuck are you talking about. You have no clue. The most anyone needs is 4Gb unless you do a lot of rendering and RAM eating applications. Seriously get out.
more ram means more space even i want 8 gb of ram
Quiet child. The adults are talking. You save more money and you get better parts. [editline]02:10PM[/editline] Just get the stuff Sbradford26 posted. Seriously. It will save you a lot of heartbreak.
OP. You do not need more motherfucking fans. I had an antec 300 for about 3 months without any intake fans, and the exhaust were running at low. My PII X3 720 was at 3.4GHz and under 35c and under 40c on load. And my 4870 is 850 core clock, 1100 memory. [editline]10:36AM[/editline] For those who want to know, i did get 2 intake fans.
Here's the build it is now; any last suggestions? [editline]10:05AM[/editline]
OP. It will be is alone. bolted in a wood cabinet with a projector, hot lights and a few other electronics. You are telling me that the little CPU fan that comes with the CPU will keep all of this cool?
Why would Intel or AMD give you fans that don't keep your processor cool?
Why would Intel or AMD give you fans that don't keep your processor cool?
You clearly aren't understanding. How in the hell is that little CPU fan going to keep EVERYTHING in the entire cabinet cool. Before you answer, this is a rhetorical question. It can't. Especially with no openings in the cabinet.
You sir forgot the fans on the psu and the only things making heat are the cpu and the psu which have fans on them so you are all good.
I'm pretty sure the GPU, RAM, and hard drives make heat.
I'm pretty sure the GPU, RAM, and hard drives make heat.
He is running integrated and they are no the major heatsources the a psu and cpu are. Unless said gpu is a dedicated one which it isn't. Even if he had a dedicated gpu would he need 4 200mm fans I don't think so.
First, I will only be using two. Second, you guys still don't get it. The computer is NOT the only thing cooled by the fans. The fans are cooling a bunch of other equipment, along with the computer. The only reason I mentioned it is because I want to make sure that the PSU can handle the computer, the fans, 200 IR LEDs, and a few other things. [editline]01:01PM[/editline] If you can just answer that, then I'm done. I just don't want to be stressing the PSU.
