Call of Duty: Ghost’s dog, who I think we’ve all sussed will be named ‘Ghost’
Sort of, it's named Riley, which is MW2's Ghost's last name.
The dog is going to die at the end.

Whats the point of having a early warning system in a totally linear fps. Like I don't need the dog telling me enemies are nearby because I know when I enter a room it will have enemies in it.
The dog is an early warning system and this is CoD. In the first level the dog will step on a mine and his giblets will go everywhere. Early warning: there are mines.
The dog is going to die at the end.
All faith in Call of Duty will be restored when you think the Dog has died, he will actually come back in the middle of a slow motion downed "aim and kill the bad guy with your pistol" scenario and bite the bad guys arm like a badass.
It would be better if the main character died, and the last thing you see is your dog alone with you. That would be heart-string-pulling if done well (which they probably can't do) but no, they're gonna kill the dog.
The ending is just you dying and your dog waiting for you until it finally lays down and dies
the dog dies but magically comes back to life in.... [sp]Call of Duty: Ghosts 4[/sp]

Woof woof ("You are hurt! Get to cover!")
why would an early warning system be helpful in call of duty the enemies barely register as a threat unless there's a large group of them or you're playing on the borderline broken veteran mode
You don't need a dog to tell you that CoD: Ghosts will be shit..
The dog is going to die at the end.
No, the dog is behind all of it.
No, the dog is behind all of it.
Impossible, that dog is a Shiba Inu.

I love FP's butthurt-ness to this

Generally speaking for character death to remain effective they need a lot of buildup (people don't care about background characters dying just because they had five minutes of "I miss my family so much" before their death) and the character needs to be crucial in some point. Part of what makes Game of Thrones' character deaths so impactful for example is that every death sends a shockwave through the entirety of the tight web of political relationships, leaving lots of small and big waves everywhere and making the audience go all "OH MY GOD THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING". That's why, even tho it's an "anyone can die when it's dramatically convenient" kinda show with a lot of characters and a lot of deaths, tension is generally really high. Don't see how a dog's important to anyone but it's owner tho, so I can't see how its death would be anything but a cheap shot at the player's heartstrings you can see from a mile away. I don't see much room for characterization either, dog companions generally come in the three flavors of loyal, smart and cuddly and that's it.

Fable did this. Years ago. I just love it how because it's not human they treat it as something revolutionary. I can guarantee the dog doesn't have a personality system or anything like that. So it's basically an AI sidekick. Which has been done forever. It doesn't matter if it's a dog or a camel. The only thing that is majorly different is really just the model and animations.
I have my own dog, and he warned me to stay away from this.

I think we all know that the dog will die in a tragic way such as getting shot in the head while you're captured by enemies, only to have him return with the same voice actor in CoD:Ghosts 2 only with a dog skull bandana on him
I still think killing off Gaz in MW1 was one of the dumbest things they ever did I mean at least they could have made it meaningful or something, but no, he just gets a 50 to the face and that's that

People die, and you can't do shit about it?
Next time, they should make the game play by itself.
