• My RAM is being a major cunt

I recently got 8gb (4 x 2) of extra ram in order to increase my computers performance. Basically either I'm doing something horribly wrong, or they're being fuck wits. When I put in all 4 sticks of ram, my computer wont go into its boot sequence. When I just have 3 sticks, It'll work fine... With the exception of it saying 6 GB ram 2GB Usable. I Really need some help here, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I also checked if they're compatible, and according to my motherboard specs (http://www.asus.com.au/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1156/P7P55DE_LX/) It supports DDR3 1333 Memory. So yea I'm out of ideas here, but my guess is I'm doing something completely wrong.
First of all, make sure you have a 64 bit OS. Secondly: - Are you sure the 4 modules are of the same brand and making? - Are they on your motherboards compatibility list? - Is the RAM plugged in properly? - Are the pins in the RAM slots of your motherboard not broken or bend? - Are the RAM slots free of dust? - Does the computer boot with each module of RAM separately? Thirdly: If non of the above resolves the issue, do a Memtest with each module individually.
Windows has a Maximum Memory setting. If it's set it will prevent you from using anything more. That could be why Windows is saying 2 out of 6 GB usable. Here's a guide...
