• Damaged Monitor

TL;DR: I have a broken monitor (Model: DELL 1504FP) my school owns that I need to replace. Ideas of what's wrong and suggestions of how to fix it will be helpful. Help finding a replacement for little to no cost (under $50 including shipping) will be appreciated, if no fix can be found. Description: My school dumped a whole bunch of parts on me, including a server, so I borrowed a monitor (because I don't have a spare one) with the understanding that I'd bring it back. I had it inside for some testing and such, and then I needed to move it to the server so I could work on it since I have time off for a while. I picked it up by the base, and carefully watching that nothing touched the screen, I carried it to the server, set it down, hooked everything up, and when I turned it on, I was met by an ugly splotch in the middle of the screen. The model number is DELL 1504FP. Its a crappy monitor, but I don't want to pay the school full price for it if it can be avoided. I don't know why it should be a big deal, I mean the monitors we use regularly are 22" widescreens.
Our school has a bunch of those too. They fall apart so easily (buttons are coming off and such). It was probably damaged before you even picked it up. But the panel is probably damaged in a way you can't fix it. Unless someone comes up with a good solution, your only option is to replace it.
goddamn, what did you do to it?
goddamn, what did you do to it?
Chucked it down some stairs... you know... Kidding, I actually think it might have hit something when it tipped forward (not my fault), but I'm doubting it. If anything else, I might just take it back and say it was like that when I got it and buying another one would just be nice to have on hand when I have to take this one back.
Buy a cheap 17 or 19 inch off craigslist.
