Yes. My PC keeps randomly turning itself off. No matter what i do. Idle, playing... whatever.
It all happend yesterday when i tried to clean my computer from dust. I couldn't enter the CPU (the screws wouldn't get loose) so i took my vacum cleaner out and gave it a try.
I got everything in place and started the PC as usual. After 15-20 minutes it shutted down. I thought a cable were loose so i plugged back everything again and restarted. Same thing happends again.
I'm currently on a Windows 7 64-bit. The Specs doesn't matter since it ran perfectly yesterday.
Any help? Sorry for being so non-detailed and stuff but i'm afraid that the PC will shut itself down again.

I forgot to say that i'm not an expert on computers and such so don't expect me to know everything.
Overheating perhaps?
Sudden shutting down is usually a symptom of overheating, the PC powering down so it doesn't roast itself.
Handy hint. NEVER use your vacuum to clean out your PC. Pulling lots of dust over a plastic hoover nozzle generates a lot of static electricity. We use canned air for a reason.

Vacuuming a fan will generate a small current too.

Take a side panel off or something, what I did with mine and it hasn't overheated since.
This is with an open side panel

Yeah, seems like overheating. Check if your fans are running.
Just take the side off and go made with a can of compressed air
also

Either your CPU fan is not working or there is no thermal paste.
Either your CPU fan is not working or there is no thermal paste.
or both.
or both.
Yes. When i had my PC running without thermal paste temperatures we're around 100C.
i wonder how hot a gtx480 would get without a cooler
Where do i paste the Thermal paste?
Pepper;25613209']i wonder how hot a gtx480 would get without a cooler
Would overheat before BIOS.
This was happening to my Laptop because it was getting hot. I just turned off my Laptop for like an hour or two because I was leaving it on a lot and it hasn't done it again yet.
I tried to uninstall my fan again. The screws don't seem to get loose. It's like its locked or something.
I also have a black box surrounding it to the other side of the side-panel. Should i remove that?
Any help?

Don't forget to reapply thermal paste (Also, thermal paste is toxic, don't eat that shit).
Got the fan out, cleaned it out and got it back. 50-70 C idle, 80 C playing.
Problem solved.
I'll reapply thermal paste when i have it.

:ohdear: I thought it was toothpaste.
also dont use the thermal paste for your GPU, just your CPU. I know you have it fixed, but i was reapplying thermal paste back when i was building my first desktop and thought well since im reapplying it to the CPU why not the GPU too haha, yea its a different thermal compound, luckily a friend stopped me XD

Wait what, you are running without thermal paste now?

Its tooth paste for emo kids.
It had some thermal paste left i think.
Just stop fucking with your system and take it to someone who knows what they're doing. And watch them.
Any time you remove the heat sink from the processor you should also clean the thermal paste off and apply new thermal paste. To clean the thermal paste you should use isopropyl alcohol and a coffee filter. Alternatively, if you're willing to spend a little bit of money, you could buy ArctiClean which is supposed to work better than isopropyl alcohol.

JUMPING JACK CHRISTMAS.
Clean the dust out of that motherfucking fan.
I would suggest thermal paste.
