Bought a new heat sink, the Hyper Evo TX3, since my older one was missing some screws and wouldn't stay completely intact, causing high temperature. I followed the boxed manual precisely. I even checked for installation videos on YouTube to ensure I hadn't made a mistake, and the heat sink seemed to fit fine. However, for whatever reason, I would get 90 Celsius when just using Chrome. I took it out again and noticed something. Sorry for the bad quality. If you can't see it, two holes of the stock are beneath the motherboard and the other two are poking through. This, to me, explains why I had trouble trying to fit in the hard pins, and why I had high temperature. How should I approach this. I'm planning on refitting the motherboard. Or, if anyone knows another solution, please share.
for one, you suck at applying thermal paste two, i'm not entirely sure what you mean by "stock" three, if you mean the backplate's pins are not sticking through correctly, you obviously didn't install it correctly, as in a proper install, all the backplate pins fit perfectly through the mounting holes
